although tian/zhao are ranked two in group D, isnt it still possible for an all chinese wd final? If wang/yu lose their match againts korea tonight (fixed match), that puts them in the second spot, thus they'll be playing in the bottom half whereas tian/zhao will play in the top half???

Hopefully both pairs get knocked out before the Final, if they fix matches!! ****ing annyoing Chinese toys of the system... Sorry for being so harsh, but I want to see sport in its Nature, fight for it until the end and the better will win :-D
    A real pity, poor athletes...
The same story propably in the MD, where it is possible to fix the QF CHN vs CHN...
Btw. if the CHN WD play each other I´ll root for Zhao/Tian, overall I hope the Danes (and Koreans) can put up more upsets like today :)

I agree: that "crap" word may be not the most appropiate. But you should see where Spain was not so far. Badminton entered in Spain just 30 years ago. In the last 10 there was a huge evolution: not only in number of players, you can see Pablo or Carolina Marin, who I really expect to be a top ten player in WS. And obviously the coaches are in that evolution.

WD....maybe yes and maybe not. Likelihood is quite low since Zhao Yunlei can concentrate fully in XD.

But MD, look at it this way....so if Cai-Fu plays to avoid their teammates....then...they will finish as runners up and end up meeting Boe/Mogensen followed by Jung/Lee in the bottom half of the draw.

That is not a very smart thing to do from the Chinese side.....

i agree that they both may switch half :D for some tactical purpose.

scroll back then you'll find lots of interesting tactical moves such as the give-away from Mizuki Fujii / Reika Kakiiwa to Cheng Wen Hsing / Chien Yu Chin .... MANY UPSETS today :D Olympic jinx!!

Omg, even the Japanese pair is faking their match.

There's no way Fujii/Kakiiwa will lose to Cheng/Chen. Their h2h was amazing.

Well understandable. To avoid facing Zhao/Tian, they do have amazing record against the Danish pair.

the HK girls Poon Lok Yan and Tse Ying Suet actually have very good techniques. but mentally just kinda day dreaming most of the time. they need a better coach to whip them into playing better badminton than this.

while frankly the Japanese in general don't have the best looking strokes but they trumps everybody mentally.

I still don't get it though! As far as I understood, the raking in the group will be decided upon the number of points that the player/players have won. In the event of a tie, the team with a higher point difference (points won to points lost) will go through.

At the moment, Jwala/Ponappa and SARI/YAO have one match remaining and the point difference for the IND pair is [-8]. The second ranked team in the group, Fuji/Kakiwa have a point difference of [+4]. So, if the IND pair is able to win their game with a point difference of 12 points and above, they should go through! There is no head to head equation as far as I know! Or have I got it all wrong here??

CHN vs GBR in the mixed, China's priority here is to avoid injury and to get off court ASAP, no point risking anything in a dead rubber.

This is why I dont like group stages, the idea of fix matches is unbearable

OG should go back to KO stages from the get go....
