I paid a visit to the Victor showroom/warehouse/office at 51, Jalan Pemimpin, Mayfair Industrial Building #05-03. Chris's wife Elaine is running the show there.

There are various clearance items available eg. shoes (S$20-60), apparels (t-shirts S$10, collar t-shirts S$15) etc. Odd sizes only. The new/current items (eg. bags, apparels, rackets, shoes, grips, strings etc) are neatly displayed on the racks.

Its a pity the showroom is only open from Mondays to Fridays 9am to 4pm.

Just bought a BRS9 from Elaine today, with 28 lbs VS-850. Nice feel, especially when hit sweet spot. Tonite will try again. But original grip has to be replaced as it doesn't drink sweat.

Overall, the place was nice. A bit ulu, and Elaine doesn't take NETS or cards. So you must prepare to bring down at least $300, in case you want to buy stuffs. I had to drive back to Shunfu's POSB ATM and drive back again.

Also, it was rather sad that they are VERY reluctant to help me end the knots with 4 ties, convincing me to use their 2 1/2 ties. BRS9 should be able to take up to 30+ lbs (although indicated as 28 lbs). I told Elaine to do a 28+ lbs. However, she tried to convince me to go 24 lbs even though I told her that all my APACS are done in 30 lbs and I am comfortable with the power and control of a tight string. Luckily, she did it for me at 28 lbs, so it was a compromise and I don't want to void the warranty (anything higher usually would be out of limit of warranty). Lastly, she tried to sell me the 0.66 string, but I stick to VS-850 because I want to see how good it is.

When I paid, I asked about the warranty and she was uncomfortable about it because she worried that I would clash the racket. Maybe she worried that I would kill the racket and demand a new racket, and she trying to, once again, convince me that the rackets are good quality. Yeah... I seen many high-end Yonex breaks for no reason and was replaced by the shop. All I want is a reassurance that just in case my racket wasn't QC properly, I could get a new replacement. If I break the racket recklessly, then it's my own fault.

Quality of Racket : 8/10 (good feel, great power)
Quality of Service : 5/10 (more customer-orientated, NETS machine is a MUST)
Range of Rackets : 10/10 (full range)

I went down again with my coach. Today, the experience was nicer than yesterday. One shot, we bought 6 pairs of shoes.

I guess I owned them an apology. They were right. 28 lbs is a little too high for this racket. I wasn't able to get any sweet spot (although my slices were very nice). Maybe I would drop back to 25 lbs, so that I could play a better game. Overall, good racket.

note: of course, Elaine was prettier today, so maybe my mood becomes better? *grin*
