Its out in the UK on directsportseshop for just under £85. Tempted to buy to try but I have a VT80 already so not much point. The weight, balance and stiffness are below. Weight: 93 grams Flex: 56 mm - Medium-Stiff Balance: 304 mm from handle - Medium (according to the directsportseshop website)
is that site legit? Directsporteshop? or do they sell fake rackets. Those price are ridiculously low, if you convert it to CDN. Do they ship to Canada? has anyone bought from that site? Thanks!
Ridiculously low??? They sell the VT-ZF for 178.49 pounds which translates into roughly 213 Euros! You get the same racket here in Germany for 159 Euros. So... No, Directsports doesn't charge less as compared to others and yes, they are legit! In fact a lot of people here in BC have purchased from this website and the reviews have been on the positive side, I guess!
I am a beginner and this is my ~1 month experience playing with VT9 (BG66 at 24lbs). My previous racket is VT7 but my son snatched it away from me :crying: Anyway, I decided to move to a head heavier racket and here came VT9. I must say VT7 and VT9 are almost 2 totally different animal. The smashing and clearing of VT9 is definitely more powerful that VT7. VT9 is more stable and shots are sharp with more accuracy. I am playing better with VT9 now but still a long way playing to the strength of it. The reason is being I do not have strong arm and I started to feel the weight of the racket after 1-2 single games. It is a stiff racket and a couple of times I actually experienced shoulder pains after games. The swing takes much more effort (at least for me) than VT7. The main reason has to be VT9 heavier head. I think it will help if the shaft is thinner like VT80. I used my friend VT80 (3U) before and swings feel less effort needed than VT9. Overall, I would say it is not an easy racket to use especially for beginner. If you have strong arm, like attacking style and limited budget for racket, go ahead and give VT9 a try. Feel the Voltric power with only 50% of the cost of high end VT80 and VT-Z
yup, saw the vt9 selling in the pro-one baddy courts. retails at 369.90 but girl didnt want to give any discount
I was able to look at this racket in my club store and the paint job looks so good!! I would buy this racket just for the paint job.
Yes I can confirm that Direct Shops eshop is totally legit. They are the best Yonex supplier in UK. VT9 looks very nice indeed. Official news from Yonex is that it is a stiff shafted racquet rather than medium stiff unless there has been a typo in the Yonex catalogue. I already use VT80 but I think the VT9 looks really cool - great colours. I would say it's closer to VT7 than VT80. I had one in my hand at All Englands but hadn't the opportunity to play with it. I'd say it's more a stiff-shafted VT7 rather than a cheaper VT80 if that makes sense. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
My personal experience is VT9 is quite different from VT7. VT9 is head heavy closer to VT80, 3U and with stiff shaft. VT7 is very player friendly and my 6yrs old boy is playing with it now. In fact, Yonex advertised VT9 for advance level and VT7 for allrounder. I think for VT9 will be a good "budget" racket for any player with intermediate/advance level with attacking style. One need certain skills level to play into VT9 strength. If budget not a concern, VT80 or VTZ would be even better choice for Voltric family.
Just a thought. If the VT-9 is selling for RM369.90, VT-Omega is Rm179.90, then I wonder what would be the selling price of the VT-3? I have not seen the VT-3 in any shops as of yet.
Do you mean the 2012 Limited Edition VT-3? I think it looks nice and I wouldn't mind buying the VT-3 LTD as well.
have you tried it? VT3 is even balanced, so the voltric tech i kind of redundant right? i'm guessing they made it super bottom heavy and conical in weight distribution like the N50-ii?
Just one question, isn't 19-24 LB too low tension for Voltric 9? if not, why? I just want to understand it a bit more... I have a Yonex NS 7700 and Head Helix 10000, I usually tension both at 27-29 LB
