Just a quick check and my Nike shoes have US a full size larger whereas Adidas has them half a size larger. I've always assumed half a size myself as well perhaps because of Yonex (not that it applies over here, and I've stopped looking at everything else but the cm size a long time ago) ... New Balance half a size, Reebok a full size, K-Swiss a full size ... where's the logic . A full size up seems to be the most prevalent indeed going on the link below. Ha ha, my Yonex 101's bought in UK full size diff from US size stated on tongue. Just found a yonex chart that states a difference again in EU sizing. Basically shoe manufacturers must want people in certain countries to feel like the have smaller or bigger feet compared with other countries
So I just purchased the Victor SH9000ace-e today. As many people commented, they don't require a break-in time. These look amazing in the yellow colorway. You have to see them in person to really appreciate them, the pictures online don't really give you the same awesome-ness you would witness in real life.
I am looking forward to choosing which Victor shoes I will be wearing next season. I really like 9000 Ace in yellow. I know a few players who are wearing them and they only have good things to say about them.
Pick something other than the 9000's so you can review them - the world and his dog knows how good the 9000 are by now! Maybe the 850 in blue... (yes, this is entirely self-serving - I'd rather have somebody I know and trust test something before I commit to buying it).
Mark You may be twisting my arm here. I'm not a great fan of coloured shoes although apprecaite they are making an impact on the game. That said, green 9000's are nice although I prefer yellow and black combination. Given the choice I fancy 8500D worn by LYD. I agree 850 blue look nice although probalby not on me. Much as I am a fan of coloured shoes, the "chocolate limes" 9000 don't really work for me - needed some other colour to break it up. Given the choice, I'd go for the "wasp" version as well. Did I see a purple version in the works?!? Victor seem to have clocked what Yonex did: if your shoes can be seen from Row Z, people will ask about them. Just look how well those ludicrous orange Yonex 86's did. P.S. I'd really have a test session with the 8500 if you're considering them - that Talon Guard thingy is extremely painful if it doesn't fit your foot!
I don't know about purple shoes. I've seen the orange and they look great but not for me. You may be surprised that the orange shoes have not sold that well outside All Englands and the usual time lag following it. They are popular with the younger players and juniors but not so much with more senior players.
Better to opt for SH9000 since its provides lots of support compared to SHA850. Perhaps we might say that SH9000 is the equal product to YY SHB102, whilst SHA850 is the equal product to YY SHB65. CMIIW
What's would be the equivalent of the SH-8500 in YY's line? I wouldn't be surprised if SH-A850 will not sell very well in Europe. Europeans tend to be of bigger built than Aisans, thereby requiring extra support from shoes.
hmm... SH 8500 was initially released by Victor in 2011... During the time, if I'm not mistaken, YY best shoes was SHB 101 I might be wrong though.... but I personally opine that the released of V products seems to follow the released of YY's similar product CMMIW again
Yep, there's no Yonex shoe that's quite comparable to the SH9000. They're flatter than any Yonex, really - but the support is probably equal (or slightly superior) to the top-of-the-line YY, so SHB102 in this case. The F1M was a softer shoe. Can't say anything about the new ones....
The F1 super-light shoe was not a great success for Yonex. i heard the shoe wore out quite quickly and that's always the problem when trying to make the shoe lighter. That's the reason the shoe was in the catalogue for only one year. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I can report that for me my sh9000ace (wasp stylee) shoes have out performed in durability my previous 2 Yonex shoes (101's & 102's)
