TCS is always fun to watch. He is so expressive... But he is still childish [in my eyes]... TCS appears gutsy, but greenhorns like him are prone to be rattled by masters of the game [like Taufik]... I will not bet my money against Taufik this time. Maybe in 3-4 years TCS will be a master... today, not yet... By the way, Taufik likes to bet too. He asked Chen Hong to put a US$ 1000 wager on their MD match in INA's Superliga. Chen declined... In the end, Taufik won that MD match... It was cool to see TH vs. CH in MD...
I do agree with you abot TCS being childish. HAha.. Taufik just loves to bet. You should have seen him on a casino table. It more fun to watch too..
Congrats to TCS for nearly making it to the Kedah Open 2007 Finals Kedahan TCS did not disappoint when he stretched Hafiz to a rubber in the KO with the support from his home crowd. The following extract from BAM website tells the story: 8 Sep 2007 By Loganath Velloo "Hafiz continued to blow hot and cold in the tournament, needing three games to defeat national back-up squad’s top shuttler Tan Chun Seang. It was the second seed’s third consecutive rubber games in Alor Star. After easily winning the first game 21-13, Hafiz lost his way in the second as Chun Seang rode on the home crowd support to level the match 21-12. Both players traded early leads in the decider before Hafiz pulled ahead at 17-10. Although Chun Seang narrowed the gap to 18-20, a return into the net by the Kedahan handed Hafiz the final ticket." Keep it up TCS!
Source: www.thestar.com.my Friday October 12, 2007 Chun Seang pledges to buck up KUALA LUMPUR: Top men’s singles back-up shuttler Tan Chun Seang is fired up to haul himself back on track after receiving a sealed envelope from chief coach Rashid Sidek. “Coach (Rashid) gave us (all the back-up players) a letter (on Monday). It contained our results over the last one year. I looked at mine and was disappointed with myself,” said Chun Seang after a training session at Gymnasium Two in Bukit Jalil yesterday. “There has not been any good results from me for a while. Our coach asked us to ponder on why we (my team-mates and I) are in his squad. I just do not want to continue achieveing such mediocre results,” said Chun Seang. Chun Seang’s form has dipped since winning two satellite titles – the Vietnam International Challenge (May) and the Asian Satellite meet in (June). With a renewed zeal now, Chun Seang aims to get back on the right track in his preparation for his first SEA Games in Korat in December. Chun Seang and senior Yeoh Kay Bin will play in both the individual and team events. The other men’s singles shuttlers named for the team event are Kuan Beng Hong and Chan Kwong Beng. “I will take part in two tournaments – the Vietnam Open and Malaysian satellite meet – next month. It will be a great boost for me if I can win one of them before the SEA Games. It will definitely boost my confidence.” On his challenge in the SEA Games, Chun Seang said: “We will be banking on Kay Bin to win the gold medal. I will be satisfied if I can bag at least a bronze medal in my first Games.” Chun Seang is setting a lower target because Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam are expected to send their top players for the biennial Games. Indonesia will be relying on Taufik Hidayat, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Simon Santoso while Thailand will be banking on Boonsak Ponsana. Vietnam’s Nguyen Tien Minh, who has beaten some of the top players of late, will be the darkhorse of the tournament.
No matter what me and Erin will always support them.. And way to go, Seang + other MJs!!! Heard BAM gonna drop some players at the end of the year.. zzzzzzzzzz..
Hmm.. ..dropping which players?? Seniors or Juniors??...Hmm, i think BAM will keep TCS around..Him and Arif are, arguably, 2 of the young talents which BAM can't afford to lose..
