I watched LYD playing in the recent WC. He was fast & sharp in attacking when playing against JPN pair in the SF but made too many unforced errors against INA pair in the final. Although he lost in the MD final to INA pair, he will still be the one to watch in Beijing Olympic and years to come.
yeah...i think it will be a great show to watch....wow...if one day jjs retires,u think who will he partner with?
Unlikely. Hwang Jung-woon is a singles player. Jung Jae-sung won't be retiring any time soon. Remember, he is a doubles specialist who doesn't play mixed. Just to give you an idea of their relative ages, Jung turned 25 on Saturday. Lee Jae-jin turns 25 in January and Hwang Ji-man just turned 23. Han Sang-hoon turns 23 in October.
Korea is now slowly having 2 solid men's doubles pairs, similar to the times of the legendary Ha Tae Kwon/Kim Dong Moon, Lee Dong Soo/Yoo Yong Sung. In fact, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae and Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man are evenly matched. Lee/Hwang beat Jung/Lee in quite a couple of events this year; when they won the SCG Thailand Open and German Open Jung/Lee themselves won the Korea Super Series and a silver-medallist in the World Championships. Not to mention, Korea does have a solid back up pair in Han Sang Hoon/Cho Gun Woo (World Junior champion with Lee Yong Dae). Korea's haul of 3 MD titles this year is on par with China (Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun winning 3 titles) and 2 titles behind MAS (Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong winning 4 titles and Chan Chong Ming/Hoon Thien How winning 1 title). In contrast, INA only wins 1 title in the World Championships
Interestingly, Han Sang-hoon was also a World Junior Champion in his day. His partner was Park Sung-hwan. They beat the likes of Guo Zhendong, Ong Soon Hock, Koo Kien Keat, and Tan Bin Shen on their way to the win in 2002. Han and Cho won the Osaka Challenge, reached the semi-finals of the Philippine Open, and lost in the 2nd round to Jung/Lee in the Thailand Open.
Any idea why PSH was not playing doubles these days.. ? Han/Cho will be the pair to watch in soon coming future.....
In addition, there's also another Junior player Yoo Yeon Seong, who is currently paired with Kwon Yi Go in the Indonesia Challenge 2007. Han Sang Hoon/Yoo Yeon Seong are among of the pair that has beaten the current World Champion Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in R16 of the All England this year. Look out for this pair
I think Korea are short of men's singles players. The only solid one is Lee Hyun-il who is quite old. And this is supposed to be a Lee Yong-dae thread. I don't want the thread of my favourite player to be closed down....
HAN SANG HOON!!! *drool I'm imagining HSH/PSH playing. LMAO. The drool guys pair. HAHA Im still so CRAZY over LYD!!! He's just SO SO cuuuute!!
Yeah i remember earlier this year when u wanna take pics with him, he was kinda reluctant, but he smiled in that pic anyway
