    Hidden secret?

    .
    Hidden secret? Lol.

I rather follow what is known, not what is hidden.

Hope that Tian Houwei can show us what he can do openly, not what he can do behind closed doors.

    :):):)

It was pretty common in china basketball to hide the real age in athlete in order for them to get better opportunities to win.

    Not sure for badminton.

Today (26th Dec), the now 21-yr-old Tian Houwei has the rare distinction of having beaten both Lee CW, earlier at the AUS Open GPG'13, and now Lin Dan, albeit at the CBSL group tie between Lin Dan's BAYI and Tian Houwei's GuangDong Century City, by the score of 11-9 and 11-8, yes, THW winning in two straight sets. http://sports.qq.com/a/20131226/015477.htm

I believe Tian Houwei is the only player of his age or younger to have victories over both Lin Dan and Lee CW under his belt. I'm waiting to see when he can add Chen Long as his scalp.

Tian Houwei is almost 22 now. Chen Long beat LD at a very young age. I wonder how old CL was when he beat LCW the first time.

But Tian Houwei is way more exciting to watch. Showhow I found CL's style quite boring.

Hope to watch more Tian Houwei's matches this year (2014)

    .
I agree. After Lin Dan (the most exciting CHN player to watch), Tian Houwei comes in next.

Hope to watch more Tian Houwei's matches this year (2014).

This is a great win for him. Tommy is the world's 2nd best non-Chinese player. I think both Du Pengyu and Wang Zhengming struggle to beat Tommy, so Tian Houwei certainly is showing his class.

Ya, I agree Tian Hou Wei is good, but he lack the type of explosive smash than Lin dan produce, that made him Super Dan . Hope along the years, Tian hou wei will become world 1 soon !

Tian Hou Wei feels like the most interesting talent since Lin Dan. Too many "soldiers" from the great China machine in the past 6-7 years, mostly no fun, no flair.

He seems to like playing in colderclimates. There seems to be some weak points in his game. He cant break through and move up another tier. Could be his attacking game is lacking. Its all very well tobe defensive but all the top players have a punishing smash which breaks through many defenses
He also starts slowly. Its a very disappointing show in the Singapore Open. A lot of potential but not good enough I am afraid

Seems like China's MS is even weaker than MD at the moment. They pretty much have nobody other than 1 guy, chen long. Even Chen Long isn't able to take the #1 spot.

Yes i agree Chinas MS is not that great. LCW has worked out the how to play CL. which is to deceive him without trying too hard and getting frustrated in the process and tiring himself out. No doubt about SS class and experience and thats the p the problem with the crop of players from China. Thw I thought was an exception to this rule by winning some great tournaments and beating Simon in one but has he improved? No Simon on the other hand has picked himself up and improved his game. THW with his impressive skills has stagnated.
Today in the WJC at Alir Setar another impressive plsyer who won the German and Dutch open recently, Lin Guipu also lost his singles match to. June Wee Cheam, someone he beat three times times earlier. So are the coaches in Malaysia better?
