Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 15-Sep-2013 (A Short Report) . Here is a short report for our Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 15-Sep-2013. We thank trainees for removing themselves from our 'Booking List' when unable to attend; therefore opening up vacancies for new trainees wishing to join us. Reminder : If you are unable to attend, kindly remove your name ASAP so that others can replace you, otherwise you will be fined. Why? Because there could other CCCers wishing to attend (checking to book in - up to the last hours), but finding themselves missing out after we have FULL HOUSE. At this session, we conducted the lesson on 'Level Doubles Players' Positions'. Some points to remember : * 'Front-and-Back' is your attacking position. * 'Square' is your defending position. * When serving or receiving the service, keep to your attacking position. * Front player chooses which side to square (when required to defend). * Allow the forehand player to play the shot from your 'Back Triangle'. * Allow the better player to play the shot from your 'Front Triangle'. * Know your area of coverage when at 'Front-and-Back' and/or 'Square' positions. * Control the front court whenever you do a 'Low Service'. * Control the front court whenever your partner is forced to move to the back court. * Control the front court after you have blocked a smash. * etc, etc, ...... If trainees are still not understanding the lesson taught, please ask me questions next session (to give you info/demo that you require). Comments on our 6 attending trainees: * WaiKin-Y is doing well. 'Net-play' has improved greatly. * Mario-P is doing well too. 'Service' has improved greatly. * Tracy-T's 'Net-play' has improved a lot. 'Maxima' are usually on her side of the net. * Chong-S is still having problem to remember to defend ('Squaring') after doing a 'Lift'. Don't worry; More training will get you there. * Wei-C (being new) has a lot to learn. Her problem is mainly because of her 'Grip Control' when hitting the shuttlecock from her forehand or backhand sides. * Owen-C (also being new) has much to learn. A few trainees have told me to conduct our Sunday CCC CATS after 6.30pm on Sunday 22-Sep-2013 (after the tournament). Please keep in touch with this thread; So far, we have these court times available for us ; * 1/2 hour: 6:30pm-7:00pm * 1/2 hour: 7:30pm-8:00pm * 1 full hour: 8:00pm-9:00pm I have requested MSAC to inform me if ever they have bookings cancelled. I would like to have our Sunday CCC CATS (on 22-Sep-2013) to be conducted between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Let's see what will eventuate. .

Chong-S suggested to do the lesson on ‘Singles Match Play’ (Chapter 19). At this session, Chong-S and Wei-C played at least 6 games of Singles. Some points to remember : * Serving high to the 'Back Tram-lines' will give you more time for your next shot. * If serving low, you will have less time for your next shot. A disadvantage if your footwork is slow. * Concentrate on the 3 target areas, namely 'Back Tram-lines', ’Front Court' and 'Gap'. * When playing to the ’Front Court', control the ’Maxima ' on your side the court. * When playing to the ’Overhead Clear', control the ’Maxima ' on your opponent’s side the court. * To play better ’Singles, more 'Footwork' training is required. * etc, etc, ......
