There were these girls shouting every time Noz served. Kinda distracting to the opponent, isn't it? MM played a pretty passive G3, making it easy for Noz to take control.
Of the 4 skills in learning a new language, that is, reading, writing, listening and speaking, listening is probably the most difficult one to master. Because the other 3 can be done at one's own time and pace.
Perhaps they are her schoolmates who could not contain their excitement when they were seeing her thrash Minatsu in the rubber. Saitama is after all just north of Tokyo and it was a weekend match. They seemed to be uttering the syllable 'no', which may be the shortened version of her name. Just realised that Nozomi is an extremely aggressive player. Fast and furious. Her opponents must be accumulating lactic acid just trying to return her shots. It is likely that there will be greater things to come, since she can produce such results despite making what I consider a significant number of unforced errors. MM has more than once appeared breathless. I seriously wonder if she is asthmatic. I'm surprised and dismayed that the uploader Badland Movie has cut his resolution from 1080p to 480p for the later matches. I guess he was not able to transfer his many videos into his youtube account in time and ran out of storage space. But anyway, many thanks for all his effort.
you are correct. I tried to learn listening from my japanese friends through skype, but it is soooo difficult. Write and read are still ok.
. Hahaha...... Hope to see Nozomi on the cover of more magazines in the next 16 years (I believe it could happen). .
Another Nozomi, albeit of a different kind. But nonetheless, very fast too.
I believe Nozomi Okuhara can make it into the World's Top 50 positions in 2012 . I took a look at Nozomi Okuhara's BWF Ranking today (23-Dec-2011). She is now ranked at 81st position. http://bwfcontent.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/category.aspx?id=2833&category=473&p=2&ps=50 After we have started this thread for Nozomi (in September 2011), she reached her highest ranking at 60th position in October 2011. http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/profile/history.aspx?id=2D28B50A-695D-4CC0-9DAD-633D35E87B4D Depending on Nozomi's schedule (juggling between school and Badminton), at 17 years of age next year (2012), I believe she can make it into the World's Top 50 positions without problem. .
Congratulations to Nozomi Okuhara for making it into the main team !!! . Congratulations to Nozomi Okuhara !!! Let's hope to see her participating in more GP and/or SS tournaments this year (2012). .
