tend to find tat RSL No.1 quality drops a lil...
the durability of the shuttle has dropped...
it can now the most last for a game...
switched to RCL Titanium which is a few bucks higher...
very satisfy wif it and we started using it in most of my badminton session...
lasted for bout 2 games usually... and without many hard smashing, it even lasted up to 4 games  ... used onli 3 shuttles in 3 hrs...
well... maybe we are just too 'soft' :D:D

Sealion is still the most consistent la. Other brands yoyo once. Once they cannot sell, they will up the quality a little. Then later, they will slack on the quality. You should know better if you played for many years. ;)

Other than Yonex (which is good but expensive), it is a safer choice to get from these 4 popular brands. Of course I am not saying other brands are not good. Just these 4 are the safer choice since so many people using them.

i.e. RCL, Sealion, RSL and Protech.

Personally I am using RCL and I would recommend it. But other 3 brands should be ok too.

May I Know how much is RCL price range? I am from Miri, Sarawak
Normally we play with Yonex As5 or RSL gold which cost around 51 for RSL and 58 for Yonex

I am looking for durable and good quality shuttles (that wont reduce power when hit). We are hard hitters.

I have used RSL gold last year when the price only RM46 per doz. , but now the price is RM5+ and the quality only last 1/2 game or 1 game. The feather easily break.

Then i changed to RCL Yellow/Green (cant remember the colour d), only last 1 game or less.

Then i used Sea Lion Gold, good but at least 1 or 2 shuttles in one dozen is poor.

Then i changed to RSL classic, shuttles to light.. fly like superman..

Then i changed to PRotech masterpiece, it was awesome BUT after that the quality drop.

Then i changed to Protech world class, superb (feather not easily break, the best shuttle i ever use) can last 2 games for hard hitters and 3 games at least for less smashes but now the quality oso drop d.. can only last 1.5 game now.. zzzz

So now, i have to search for another shuttle to replace protech world class.. any idea?

I think shuttles lasting about 1 game +/- is about the average life span of a shuttle.

There are so many variables involved that can destroy a shuttle throughout a game (mishits, smashes, getting caught in the net, sheer force, etc). I tend to find shuttles which have lasted 1 game over will be already degraded due to the loss of feather etc., and I will rather grab a new one and save the used one for warm-ups/knock-ups. If you are so concerned about durability, there are always plastic shuttles :)

Just for comparison purposes, I use RCL De Best and RCL Gold interchangeably and the shuttles usually last me 1 game +/-.

And you got to bear in mind too, that the season's climate/temperature will have an effect on the quality of goose feathers (maybe?).

    Justin.

Hey bro, how much do you get your RCL De Best and RCL Gold in Penang ?

And also Protech Platinum and RSL Supreme in KL area. I am helping my uncle to look for shuttle.

    Thanks in advance.
