I think there is a downside to this... which is if they already pay for Rm 50... they probably paiseh to continue to 3hr incase they still got power to play on. Also hard for you to keep track ppl presence.. u might need a log book :D

I don't see why there should be a different charge for regular and adhoc players. It's all about playing the game* and sharing the cost. Like the Super Saturday session at New Vision, simply calculate the costs of court rental and shuttlecocks used at the end of the session, and everybody pays the same amount.

    * That means you, Lim. You need to play more, organize less. At the current rate you're running about, you should start charging an administrative cost of RM10/- per session!

I agree with Bro yeohray. All equal sharing the cost is the BEST... It is very troublesome to charge monthly fee but giving refund (or carry forward) to members who absent... At the end you will lose some money due to no enough players to cover the cost.. I experienced it before:crying:

If Bro Lim want to get regular members, no refund should be given if they absent,,, except those need temporary leave due to works ( he/she should be inform the captain early so that captain can get visitor to replace).

Above are my sikit opinion to Bro Lim:D

I think lim is doing a good job here. Some people ffk for certain reason, though we understand, but Lim had to book the court according to the no. of ppl attend. Most of time, less court more ppl where else more court less ppl which is the troublesome part.

By having month charges for regular & ad-hoc charges for visitor, he can have more control on no. of ppl against no. of court. Sometimes, Lim had to bare some extra costs due to no. of ppl is different from the list posted. Besides, having month and ad-hoc charges, can have more regular ppl and there just pay on every 1st session of the month, and the rest of the session of that particular month, they don't need to paid anymore. I think he charge a reasonable charges for the monthly charges, and in the end I'm sure most of the benefit goes to the permanent regular player.

Lim had give a lot of commitment and effort for this session and he's trying to give the best, least an enjoyable, social and fun session to you guy. As an organiser, this job is not easy when the session become regular and we all should try to understand our organiser's goodwill. This session start from Sept 2009 till now. Almost 1 year. Is not that easy to maintain and keep it on till now.

I think everybody agrees on that point.

He can always have a fixed number of courts and slots for people to join, and not have to run around booking extra courts when more people decide to join. This only benefits the other people, and not Lim. Is anybody going to pay for his phone bills, petrol costs, time, etc?

This happens in part because he fixes the charges for each session up front, and not calculate it based on attendance and costs incurred at the end of the session.

By having x number of regular players, he knows in advance the minimum number of courts required, that's all. By allowing regular players to carry forward the amounts paid if they do not turn up will just unbalance everything again. Lim will just have to make phone calls to ask other people to fill up the empty slots. More unnecessary work and time spent.

There shouldn't be a reasonable or unreasonable charge. It should be the actual cost shared among the players. Paying just RM10/- to play 2 hours on a rubber court is not reasonable, it's a bargain, unless we're using really cheap shuttlecocks.

There should be benefits in being a regular player?

As I understand it, the idea of having different charges for regular/ad-hoc players was suggested to Lim by other people. If it lessens his time and money spent in organizing these sessions, then I would gladly sign up as a regular player. As it stands now, I don't see how it helps him.

yeohray, how bout u try to temporarily take over Lim's position as organiser for 6 month. Then u will understand purpose of all this.

By having fix charge for monthly & ad hoc basic is indeed will lessen his time and money.

If Lim agrees to it, sure, but it will be on my terms and conditions i.e. no up-front stated fixed charges, no '16 slots expandable to 24 slots if demand increases' kind of situation, no complaining about shuttlecocks used, all costs shared equally, and Lim plays at least 5 tough games each session.

Were you the one to ask him to start this regular/adhoc charges scheme?
