I have to disagree with some people who say that we only make noise after Mak/Tan wins... Some of us have been following them since early this year, and even earlier than that. We expected them to make a breakthrough sometime, that's why not super surprised when they beat KKK/TBH, just happy. But they couldn't hold out against Alvent/Hendra. If play up to full potential, sure at least give huge fight.
Seems to be very individualistic play. Not really playing as a team... or fully utilizing their partner. I think it is the nature of their character and could be a big hindrance in moving forward further as a pair. just my 2 cents....
i did not see the match but if that is the case its not good and their potential is not out yet anyway just let tkh do his job i think he should have noticed anything missing during this tournament he will judge them better
i only caught the 2nd set... I think TKH is a lone ranger character. Self Improvement guy???? Even as a coach and probably will rub off on the players?
i know very little of him from his one time partner and also coach i think he has a vision and he has something special that make his coaching a success he is able to see how doubles are played what needs to be focus in training and when his players has master that its just like training when they are actually playing in competition hope you get what i mean
Individually, I'm very sure they are up to standard. Physically good and prepared... even tho the commentator kept saying 'these BOYS'
if eagles eyes are sharp then we hope we don't have any loose canon here anyway they are send out to compete & win not only to win
TKH discovered LYD, and was the one who partnered LYD & JJS, and overall improve certain aspects of their training prog. The Koreans must have thought something of him to want him back after their MD coach resigned (Ha or somebody) . I'm not Mak/TWK fan but have watched 2 or 3 of their matches before. TWK's actually has improved a lot(that improvement part showed very little today), I did not think much of him in his junior days, 3 years ago. Still think TWK is more for XD Mak is talented but need to keep steady(the talent didnt show today), still miss Mak/Teo, more ommph
beside lyd, he created a few more terrors in the korea doubles as for the combination its still too early to confirm, i think
well there is a lot to tell about tan kim her achievement his pair,nathan/clark won the 1st super series in singapore last year for england
I had a good impression of Mak when he played U17 singles and doubles in the Cheers Youth International in Singapore back in 2005 and won the U17 doubles title with Lim Khim Wah. http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...B481CB-4A67-4286-B3C2-3D4A199B67BA&player=368
Just to add, Mak/Lim lost in the semifinals of the U19 doubles in the 2006 Cheers Youth International. http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...ACD80B-E937-4810-8AB6-F66234F1CC15&player=309
just watched the match of the semi final. body building is great more muscle and more power the only different between two pair was experience i would said. mak doesnt show his characteristic which is quite unusual. anyway with the strong field in macau open let see how is their draw and how much they can do all the best
I agree. Looking forward for them to mature, I think the real problem here is no experience on the 'big' stage, easily under pressure when the sole ones standing. Either MAS needs a mental coach or the players need to overcome the mental block themselves, and that includes LCW. Tan Kim Her himself said yesterday that Mak/Tan were under pressure. The duo played badly yesterday. These two need more exposure la, same with Chan/Lim and Goh/Teo, those two also quite decent.
I always look things at the positive side of it,.....until they play with bad attitude, like lost their interest in the game or do not improve aftyer few year....then i will considered them as useless like the fuzzy and maybe kkk/tbh.
The field in the Macau Open is very strong, if they get bad draw, we can only hope for upset. I hope they can make at least the QF for the Macau Open, but first have to see draw also. They need to meet strong opponents in order to improve their mental strength and so on. They had no pressure against KKK/TBH because they both played each other so many times in training.
I am abit surprised, though. How come Mak/Tan under pressure, when both have been winners at the junior level? Mak did not seem to show being under pressure at all when winning the 2008 WJC and TWK also like no pressure winning the 2007 AJC XD
