Thanks for correction...LCW was WR1 in WC2007 right? I went home in 2006 (I usually go home every 2 years), and was pondering whether to go home again in 2007 and was quite confident that LCW would win and I would not want to miss that moment. He lost to Bao right? In TC2006, I saw the TC live broadcast at my mom's house and LCW went undefeated, that I remember quite sure.

I think CHN went 1-2-3 and LD won his 1st WC. So, if LCW had not lost to SDK, LCW would have to beat out either CJ/Bao before he could even meet LD, those 2 bodyguards would tire him out mentally and he would be so spent when he gets to meet LD....hahaha!!! LOL!:p:D

    Good memory you have, otb!

That tc 2006, how I wish wch didn't burst his archilles tendon

That was Malaysia ever best tc team after 1992.

I remember Lin Dan playing style that time quite different from today.

He was more aggressive then :D

Agree, LD diving defense was amazing, later LCW emulate that and today LCW's defense is so darn good. If I try to do one of those LD or LCW diving defense, I can retire right away and play no more...LOL:D:p
I saw that match where WCH injured, WO. MAS-DEN, LCW and TBH/KKK won for MAS, KBH lost the deciding match to DEN JP.

One DIE HARD CHN FANS suggested to punish TH/LCW's match in MO...well...now it is worse..CJ and BCL had no fight at all and purposely gave the wins to younger teammates ..I guess CHN fans are quiet about it...THIS IS REALLY MATCHING FIXING!!...it is nothing illegal but not good for sport!....Where is "THAT GUY"??

Suddenly LD is fit and no injury at all....!!

A lot of good analysis on Walkovers can be found in the "LD gave WO "thread and a lot is repeated here.

All these have happened long ago in Table Tennis where China players play leagues, international team matches and players from

other countries dominate the SS or GPs. This allow allows players from other countries to advance in SS and GPs and to prevent

China dominance in ALL tournaments.Unfortunately China is still dominating these Opens other than in Men's team events where

they are using the SS and GPs for juniors to rise up the rankings. The BWF unlike the ITTF insist that players must support the SS's.

LD has other pursuits and has to stay on reluctantly but is helping to build up a team for the future.Officially he has not broken

any rules,it is how rules ought to be amended.

He can go on like Taufik now or he can pretend to lose to team-mates or he can give WOs,

    take your pick.

As summarised in the other thread, other countries with such depth would and had made such strategic moves.

ya, we all missed Lin Dan diving defense and the best part was after getting up he could do a jump smash some more :D

Good gracious opponent how to follow like that, can't even wink :D

But such defense poses injury and 'consume' a lot of their energy

    Anyway otb some off-topic here,

if you still decide to try such diving defense (which I am sure in your heart right now you still want to:D),

it's still possible but before you do it as a friend's advise, make sure you get

some mountain bike knee and elbow cap,

    a formula 1 helmet,

3 in thick latex floor mat and

    the ee-oo-ee-oo ...

Doesn't look impressive at all, like commentators said "lethargic".

About the same condition as JO.

Yes it was on TV court 3 I didn't see the match, but it is clear that LD doesn't have the mental drive anymore, in order to thrash his opponents with ease. Or perhaps he is lacking match fitness as this is his first quarter final for a while.

Anyone who saw the match, how did Taufik play ? 8-21 in the second game.

It was shown live on Astro.

When you play with your back to the camera (as in 2nd game), most shots will drift out or sideways.

in the 3rd game LD managed to overcome this problem.in 2nd game LD just gave up in the 2nd half.

I think it will continue for the rest of tournament, with the player facing the camera having the "good" side.

Anyway LD doesn't look as "trim" as LCW ,fluidity of movement is not at 100%,sth like JO.

I did watch the match. Although i am with LD, i am not feel good about his attitude. He seem to be arrogant and think " i am better than you TH" he did not fight to close the match. he play like "play" not "work" on his own duty.

    sorry no more comment.

He is not like Nadal in tennis who fight and fight and spectator is benefit to watch his sportmenship.

    to post 1897:

It appears that way probably because his physical condition is not so good, maybe that's what he wants people to think.

Definitely he did not play like LCW against Taufik in MO.

Anyway Ian Wright commented on TV that LCW was the fastest man to get behind a shuttle, even faster than LD,

it can be a big advantage. That's why you seldom see LCW out of position in recent matches.

No Alan Y, he did not relax, it is just his style recently, he only let go of set 2 because he could not handle the drift.

Take it easy my friend, it helps to be a bit moderate, otherwise you can attract a lot of knives.
