Is this genuine? After reading many posts on the forum advising me to stop purchasing badminton racquets off ebay. I came across this ebay seller who is currently selling an AT-700 Limited for $100+. The seller states that the product is an original product of yonex but not the retail version. So heres where the confusion comes in... What is this racquet exactly then? http://cgi.ebay.ca/YONEX-YY-ARMORTEC-AT-700-AT700-LIMITED-T-JOIN-RACKET_W0QQitemZ250340209772QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRacquets?hash=item250340209772&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 Thanks for helping me in advance! Cheers!
Bestbacon - You are using your BF skills but not using your Ebay skills. Look at his feedback. Other buyers have already said that the seller has previously sold fakes (they incorrectly call them clones). Use your Ebay skills to look for other clues as to why this seller is selling fakes for sure.. Still want to believe the seller? There are many sellers on Ebay who have been previously confirmed by BF users as sellers of genuine products (Sumai03 et al), they are just hard to find in a sea of fake sellers. If you are looking for a genuine Yonex Arc or Nano series, you will need to be most careful.
Hi I have posted this "Hi Could you please help me? I wanted to know whether this Yonex Arcsaber7 is fake or Original http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170275394500 Seller also provide the serial number : racket model: Yonex Arcsaber shaft serial: 7653639 cone code : 090583UK source : From ebay.co.uk price :GBP 87 Please let me know early as possible." Please anyone could you trace the serial number and let me know fake or Original? Thanks in advance
Daran - I'm with epermana. To be sure, ask for photos of the product you will get if you win. In any case the seller is a bricks & mortar business in Truro UK selling with a BIN (Buy-It-Now). That means you're protected by UK law and distance selling regs. Just pay via PAYPAL and send it back using Special Delivery if there's any doubt.
Daran - The serial is in line with my expectation but note that I do not run a serial number DB like leehsim does. I check for a whole basket of things on an Ebay seller before I buy as serials, by themselves, cannot be used as proof whether a racket is genuine or not. That is why, when a racket serial checks out, leehsim stills says you need to inspect the racket to be sure. However, all thing considered, and without any further info than what you have provided, I would be happy to buy from this seller with UK consumer law protecting you. Just check it when you get it in your hands. BTW-Good find! (IMHO)
ok I still want to try some example though I have been starting to understand ebay seller's logic. For example, some 2 links with low prices http://cgi.ebay.com/1-Pair-New-Yone...9|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50 http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Yonex...9|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50 for top racquets - just fakes in principal (because of the price)? and for example good price - http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-YONEX-ARMOR...9|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 can be interesting, I mean I can start to ask seller about photos and so on?
We can certainly say links 1 and 2 are fake. Link 3 is more promising. I suggest you ask for some more pictures and for the shaft and cone codes. With those two things, you can generally build up a good picture as to whether a racket is genuine or not.
Personally, I don't think Yonex rackets come with tags. Instead, every racket should have front cover secured by an elastic strap at the bag. Hard to explain unless someone can be kind enough to post a picture. So listing 1 and 2 are out. The plastic wrap on the racket grip of the first listing.... nuff said, it's too fake Listing 3 could be genuine. I believe "iooho" is the same seller as "badmintondeals" (http://myworld.ebay.com/badmintondeals/) as both of their profiles have the same description, as seen below. I believe they do so to target 2 different markets, that's all. "Welcome to our "iooho/badmintondeals" eBay store! We are the largest authourized dealer of YONEX in Hong Kong, specialising in Badminton products like rackets, strings, clothings, footwear & accessories. All products listed are guaranteed to be AUTHENTIC and GENUINE. Feel confident & shop happily from us! @^_^@ " I have dealt with badmintondeals before, buying 2 pairs of yonex shoes and 1 yonex shirt and they look genuine to me. No guarantee though. I actually have a guide to spot yonex counterfeit, which I updated regularly. It may not be complete. So, if I miss anything which could be useful in helping the community, let me know. http://reviews.ebay.com.au/How-to-Spot-Counterfeit-Yonex-Rackets_W0QQugidZ10000000007203697 I do sell rackets once in a while =>
Are these racket real? http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-YONEX...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318 http://cgi.ebay.com/1-Pair-New-Yone...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318
ok just as I have checked such variants before, it is going to be 100% fake Look for smth about 100 USD per racquet and then will see
Dassad - Well Done! You've correctly identified those two listings as fakes. Can you now show us some genuine ones? By the way, price is not an indicator. Fakes have been known to be sold at low and high prices. This is especially true if it is an auction where genuine rackets can have a low start price.
The wrapping on the grip looks funny, and that's a armortec case not a muscle power case. The yonex logo on the strings is WAY too far apart. I also bought a set of nanospeeds like this off of ebay, on the listing it said the string tension was 27-28lbs but I thought it was a recommendation. When it came the sticker actually said 27-28lbs, which is really.. fake I think o.o Correct me if I'm wrong, just trying to help XD
are you talking about auctions only? if no, did you really see some good AT or NS selling for .. 40 USD somewhere?
I seriously doubt you could pick up a genuine racket at that price if you are referring to high end Yonex. In ebay auctions, I can safely say that 99% if not more of the high end Yonex rackets below $40 are fake. In shops, I've never seen a racket such as an AT900P or NS9K at that price, real or fake.
Hey - This is not some sort of personal challenge. Just a bit of fun for us in this forum rather than the misery of telling buyer after buyer that theirs is a fake. How about: 1) An auction 2) Any nanospeed or Arc 3) Lowest price seen at the moment of posting. 4) It's gotta be genuine in your opinion. 5) Bonus kudos if seller is in mainland China (not Hong Kong!) The comp runs from 16th Dec to 21st Dec. Who's in?
