The moment when I read about Li Mao getting a doctor into his team,

I knew he must have spotted those injured players :D

instead of curing those injured players
    he better create new players
he must find new talent to replace those "old" players

Maybe these new talents are also injured??? :p In any case a team doctor will be a benefit to the team. Thumps up to Li Mao to go through such profesional strategy and into the detail matters.

Looks like Li Mao is one guy who would do anything to rival LYB.

Good that he is doing all these things it will give China a lot of healthy competition.

Also very sensible of PBSI being so open minded, unlike others who only make a lot of noise and complaints.

LM could do to Ina what Park JB has done for Japan and ina is not ashamed to admit that they have to re-invent themselves even though they are a traditional power.

No choice and desperate..I saw how LM trains.....now many INA players speak little Mandarin...like" good morning:, etc..haha...anyway..LM and doctor are very tied connection...many coaches expressed how come LM gets what he wants..as long as there is a result...we do not mind

Maybe Ina wants to be like China's Deng Xiao Peng who was the main man in China's modernisation.

His famous words " Doesn't matter if the cat is black or white, the cat that catches the rat is a good cat".

Others are still chanting anti-China/Chinese slogans (some veiled) and preaching primitive tribalism and living in self denial and complacency

but still depending and living off others whilst doing so.

Shuttlers Get Chance to Rediscover Winning Habit in Switzerland

    Ami Afriatni | March 15, 2011

Competing in a lower-tier tournament might be the perfect way for Indonesia’s struggling shuttlers to regain their form and restore their confidence.

With that in mind, some of the country’s top badminton players are seeing action in this week’s Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold in Basel, hoping to make up for their dismal performance in the top-notch All England Open last week.

No Indonesian shuttler made it past the quarterfinals in the Birmingham tournament, with some of the favorites falling as early as the first round.

The field at the Swiss Open features neither China’s big guns nor most of the world’s top-ranked shuttlers, and that could open up an opportunity for Indonesia’s entries to make some progress in the tournament.

Men’s singles action opened at St. Jakobshalle Arena on Tuesday, while women’s singles and the doubles events begin play on Wednesday.

National team head coach Christian Hadinata said Mohammad Ahsan and Bona Septano have the best shot at winning a title in Basel.

Christian said the duo’s development “has been encouraging.”

“But they still have a lot of work to do. They still need to become consistent,” Christian said.

“They might win over a top pair in one tournament, but then they’ll lose to a lower-ranked opponent in the next. For them to achieve elite status, they need to be consistent.”

Christian has called Ahsan and Bona, both 23 years old, “Indonesia’s best chance for a medal in the 2012 Olympics in London.”

The way they’re progressing, I have no doubt they can qualify for the Olympics and continue Indonesia’s gold medal tradition [at the Games],” Christian said.

“That’s why the PBSI [Indonesian Badminton Association] plans to send them to more top tournaments around the world.”

Ahsan and Bona, who are seeded No. 5 at the Swiss Open, start their bid against Poland's Adam Cwalina and Michal Logosz on Wednesday.

Another Indonesian men’s doubles pair, Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Hendra Aprida Gunawan, will battle Chen Hung Ling and Lin Yu Lang of Taiwan.

In men’s singles, Simon Santoso and Sony Dwi Kuncoro, who both suffered shocking first-round losses in Birmingham, are hoping to do better this week.

No. 2 seed Simon was taking on Kristian Midtgaard of Denmark on Tuesday after press time, while Sony was playing Belgian Tan Yuhan.

No. 7 seed Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka was scheduled to take on India’s Ajay Jayaram.

Refer to that news..what Sarwendah said is:

1.She resigned because they asked her to train soldiers
2.Pelatnas Cipayung requested Sarwendah to be an assistant women's singles coach, and that the duty to train military, although it was command from Djoko Santoso, it was violated the appointment as she is the coach who should handle the players in Pelatnas.
3.Sarwendah admitted that she can not run the coaching duties because the head coach of Singles Department in Pelatnas,Li Mao could not work together.
4.Sarwendah much silent,do not do anything. The players also asked for additional training but she did not dare to do it,she worried Li Mao disagree with it.

Thats very true.........WTM is in Jakarta since Monday..we have to admit that our WS is very poor right now....I still believe in LM to train our WS.....like it or not, our INA coaches have no clue to train our WS so far....Febe is being trained in wrong away..even Susi will agree...Febe is trained to be attacker but she has no power...she has to be trained like WXS which Febe has good footwork....

Like as I said before, Febe's style is forced to be changed extremely during train in Pelatnas.
Last year when under PB. Djarum she can defeated Wang Shixian in All England 2010 in 1st Round and now WSX is All England 2011 winner.
PB. Djarum's coach know her much better than Pelatnas coach.

Adriyanti, Simon Win In Basel; Struggling Sony Loses

Adriyanti Firdasari gave Indonesian women’s badminton some reason to be upbeat after she advanced past the first round of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on Wednesday.

The world No. 38 got off to a slow start but recovered in time to beat Pai Hsiao Ma of Taiwan 16-21, 21-18, 21-17 in the $125,000 tournament at St. Jakobshalle Arena in Basel.

It was a morale-boosting win for Adriyanti, who failed to make it into the main draw of last week’s All England Open Premier Series. She lost to Gu Juan of Singapore during the qualifying round in Birmingham.

Up next for Adriyanti will be the winner of the match between Thailand’s Inthanon Ratchanok and Sung Ji-hyun of South Korea

Indonesia’s women shuttlers haven’t enjoyed much success in recent years.

This month alone has seen the resignation of two women’s singles coaches — head coach Marleve Mainaky last weekend and assistant coach Sarwendah Kusumawardhani on Tuesday — on the grounds that the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) was preventing them from doing their jobs properly.

“I resigned because the PBSI told me to also coach the military,” said Sarwendah, the 1990 women’s singles world champion.

She said the PBSI’s directive was not part of her contract and that she refused to comply even though the order came from the association’s chairman, Djoko Santoso. Djoko is a retired four-star general and former military chief of staff.

Sarwendah joined the national team in January when the PBSI asked her to help Li Mao, who oversees all the singles players.

“But Li told me that he couldn’t work with me,” she said.

in Superliga, Guna was too nervous...understood as he is the decider, not easy to play with burden...
