jan o jorgensen played well today ... won against peter gade but ... don´t think that will happen again
One thing is for certain.. ..and with the 2012 Olympics coming, in the UK, the badminton world is in need of some new, fresh, talented badminton bloods from Europe to replace the current aging fleet of top European shuttlers.....
And if this new, fresh, talented European badminton bloods are indeed scarce, badminton's fate in Olympics is doomed then?
Anu has reached the ripe age of 30 already Definitely Olga Konon, Jan Jorgensen. Maybe Scott Evans, Mads Kolding (in doubles), Dieter Domke, Marie Roepke (doubles) . Mads Conrad, Rasmus Bonde (doubles)...
Olga Konon I agree with your assesment that Olga Konon has a bright future. We must remember that she came back from 5 months out due to injury picked up a racket for first time in the 5 months and won European Junior championship gold in doubles and bronze in singles. Remarkable!!! She also won in Toulouse recently beating some good seasoned players en route. She won the Finnish International at the tender age of 14 and we must remember she is still only 18 years old. And on top of all that she is a really really nice person. Keep an eye out on BADZINE for an article I am about to publish about her. She also has a website at www.olgakonon.com Mark
After this Olympics, I guess many European players will retire. And I mean, many of them are those whose names I often see in many SS tournaments. Especially Denmark players. DEN MD uncles, Peter Gade, and Kenneth. They're all above 30 already. Sad indeed.
yea lots of top denmark players are hitting their 30's or above. Tine should have partnered doubles with Camilla before she retired. They could have been a good pair! But anyway, Denmark need to 'polish' some new youngters.
