A strait jacket is commonly found in house of the unsound :D

anyway, that jacket is expensive either for weight loss or speed training maybe more :)

Suspect it's a weight vest. I don't need one of those myself - mine is more eco-friendly but hard to get off :(

So, this is his weight suit...

Chong Wei puts on ‘weight’ and it suits him fine

KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei is putting on “weight” in his bid for glory at the World Championships in Guangzhou, China, from Aug 5-11.

The 30-year-old has been wearing a new and funky high-tech performance suit in training since last week. Named Lila, it is a locally-made brand and created by Joseph Dolcetti, a former head of the conditioning department at the National Sports Institute (NSI).
Weights are attached to the suit, which uses the Exogen technology (High Performance Exoskeletons), and the wearer can load up to 10% of his body weight.

“Age is catching up. So, I am game to try out anything new in sports science to give me power and speed to keep up with the youngsters. Why not embrace it if it helps. I have tried Lila and I am comfortable with it,” said Chong Wei, the first Malaysian athlete to adopt the new weight training programme.

He wore the suit yesterday during his on court training under the watchful eyes of coach Tey Seu Bock, Dolcetti and Sean Sturgess, the NSI’s physical trainer.
“I really feel like an ironman,” he said, flashing a smile.

“This is a different form of weight training compared to the ones we do. The shirt is comfortable and not bulky. I am able to attach different amount of weights at different parts of my body.

“When I remove it, I feel very light. Ultimately, I hope I will be able to increase my speed and movement on court,” said Chong Wei.

    Chong Wei fears no one

    Excerpts:

..."As hosts, China will be very strong in the world meet. I am training hard and hopefully, I can do well in Guangzhou," said Chong Wei at Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara yesterday.

"I do not fear anyone as my focus is only on making an impact on the tournament. It does not matter who I face in each round."

Chong Wei, 31, who has been focusing on tightening his game for the last seven days, believes he can overcome the tough competition in Guangzhou and earn a medal.

...Chong Wei, however, has offered a helping hand to his teammates to ensure they produce good results in Guangzhou.

"Daren and Wei Feng need to start producing results as they are no longer back-up players. They have started sparring with me on a regular basis.

"We are one team and I will try my best to help them in certain aspects. I do not want them to just make up the numbers in Guangzhou."

If he is training with the weights, like jumping smashes, will he "over-jump" during matches and miss the shuttle completely?

    a) He's not wearing it 100% of the time
    b) 10% body weight aren't so much that he'd miss shuttles or anything of the sort

You realize his pose is very likely the cause of that, right? Even if his pecs are imbalanced, it's not like he needs the left one :D As long as it doesn't get out of hand, there's no problem. The difference would have to be fairly substantial to pull his shoulders/upper back out of balance.

Very few have symmetrical ab muscles. There's nothing he can do to make them symmetrical. It's just genetics.
