So I finally joined the dark side and placed an order for a stringing machine Called Robin at Watdon, very helpful. Now I am about to place an order of strings from MBS. But then I realised I might have missed that it isn't only the strings which need to be replaced. Which grommets do I need? Will I do with an assortment of regular MBS grommets, if so which types? Is anyone buying these special Yonex packages??? As a start I will string my own rackets, Forza Titanium 10 & 6. And later some of my friends Yonex NS9900, Arc10 and Wilson K-Tour. Do I need a starting clamp? I ordered the Premium Stringer 3600 with double clamps and also a pair of Yonex flying clamps. Every advice is welcome / mats
Sometimes Watdon didn't put the machines into their website, but they sell them. Premium Stringer 3600 is a drop-weight machine. http://www.tennisman.de/stringing-m...o-premium-stringer-3600-d11015-a1.html?lang=1 why you need to place an order of string from MBS ? Watdon sells BG-80, Zymax 62, 67, 70, but most of them in 200m reel. For 55 - 60 GBP per reel, it may be more cheaper than MBS. http://www.watdon.co.uk/wd-strings/Strings.htm I'm going to order 3 or 4 reels of BG-80 from them again. .... looks like you are from Europe (Sweden) will order from Asia (Hongkong), while I'm from Asia (Malaysia) will order from Europe (UK) .... and if I'm not mistaken, their provide grommets as well, but MBS grommets is one of the best I've ever tried, just that pls order which is suitable with your racket.
you will likely need a awl and a string mover. aside from that, a nice pair of long nose plier and a sharp cutter.
Exactlly, I was asking about the Challenger 6 (not on website either) but was recommended the Premium Stringer 3600 by Robin. I ordered a reel of BG65/200m from Watdon but want few odd samples of different kinds ,BG80, BG68Ti, Zymax62 etc. I think it is cheaper to buy 10m sets, 2 each type, from MBS. Another reason is that I want to try different suppliers, many seems to be satisfied with MBS prices and service. /mats
Which item is that? I thought you specify which type when you order http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=122. Or am I missing something, can you get a bag of assorted grommes that would be perfect. I think I have all the other necessary tools, except a grommet remover but I think I can do without it as a start. /mats
they are supposed to be included by default in any package of stringing machine, at least the awl and string-mover ...
are you saying for that particular model, all watdon models or all stringing machines in general? my silent partner stringing machine did not come with any tools beyond those to maintain the machine.
SP as I recall sold the tools separately. Eagnas, Prince, Alpha and Gamma have basic tools included with their machines. Gamma included a starting clamp with the higher machines. Eagnas includes a string mover with all of it's machines.
Didn't you buy an eagnas stand? That's not really a whole machine. Though a bit overpriced, the Yonex tool kit looks nice. This coming from a guy who paid $120 for a set of Kimony Awls.
I'm very tempted to buy that kit even though I've got all the tools I need now, they are a mishmash of different companies. Which is why I didn't buy one even if they come with tools... I'd rather have a nice machine without tools than a crappy one with.
crappy ? I guessed you've never had it .... I have 4 Eagnas machines, and all are very well built. Too bad, that my direct contact from Eagnas has resigned already. She gave a very good price ..e.g. Smart-909 is only US$ 365, Challenger-1 is US$ 138 direct from Eagnas ...
You're right, I haven't had one but I chose not to based on the reviews of the machines and of the customer service. I can live without the experience.
