Yonex unstrung thickness is much more than advertised, so perhaps these are advertised at the unstrung thickness? Iirc BG80 was actually 0.72mm unstrung [IMG] Then again that would be going against the grain (since the Zymax are now also measured at a strung tension), and in a hybrid combo it might make some sense to have something that thick ...

That would make their .66 one pretty damn thin! :O

:D Exactly what I was thinking so made a slight edit ;). But the difference in strung and actual thickness is probably less, the thinner the string ... Let me see if I can dig up the thread around here ... BG65 was like 0.75 unstrung

    Here it is: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...n-String-Thickness-Test?p=1364536#post1364536
Zymax67 apparently almost 0.74 unstrung (see last post)

purely from the weight and balance point alone, it is similar to an ARC10 or ARC-Z.

and that's kinda what it feels like. not too head heavy, but weighty enough to feel solid and swingable at the same time.

there are 4 top models for adipower, models which they classified for "advanced pro":

    adipower force
    adipower duoforce
    adipower pro
    adipower tour

force, duoforce, pro are listed as stiff.

tour is listed at medium with a weight of 86g and bp of 290mm.

i only have the adipower pro on hand. it'd be interesting to test the rest as well to see how they all compare.

That's what I am most interested as well. I don't play much anymore to be really buying any Adidas equipment. I hope they will help the sport grow a lot.

On a side note off topic: That leads to a recent article from BWF talking about recent gains in commercialization of the sport. http://bwfbadminton.org/news_item.aspx?id=70576 So hopefully with Adidas as a sponsor, that will bring more attention to the sport and we will be more recognized globally.

So, au contraire some of the bc expectations (of complete French NT sponsorship), French #1 player Brice Leverdez has switched from Babolat to Wilson. Winning the recent French Nationals with the Recon BLX (possibly 2013 edition) ...

i am hoping that with such a big company getting into badminton the rest of the world will see badminton as more than a backyard sport :)

Hm, interesting. I don't play much anymore so I don't know. This can open the door for Adidas birds then! I remember Holvy let me try out one of Wilson's new birds over the summer that was really good, but I think Wilson tends to overprice their birds quite a bit.

i've tried wilson topline 60,80, and 100. they all tend to be a bit faster than aeroplane black label and yonex aerosensa 30. however, i find the topline 100 still cheaper than the other two mentioned when they are on sale at badminton alley. i have no relations with badminton alley, it's just that they are within a short bike ride, that's why i get some of my gear from them. but this year i'll be going to HK three times so i'll be able to replenish whatever i need from HK...tho E78 have told me that it's cheaper to get feather shuttles from "abroad" than in HK because he's not getting any discounts...

I was told that it will be competitive and not higher than yonex pricing.

Not much happening in Malaysia yet. I think itll be a while before ADIDAS can penetrate the market here as most local retailers are pretty hesitant and reluctant to explore alternative premium priced brands other than YONEX. The only way I see ADIDAS hitting it off here fast is if they start sponsoring top teams and launch event promotions.

How good a racket is really depends on how good the quality of fibre, shaft and its manufacturing process. But how many players out there really do their research beneath the rackets fancy branding and paint job?

This is certainly the 'key' point i'm looking for.. If the price is 'ok', why not give the racket a try?;)..
With adidas already venture into badminton world, i'm sure other sports giant company like Puma or Nike will follow suit very soon.. :)

Was able to talk to the person in charge for the US today, but I didn't have much time to talk. Did get some info though.

Launch in the US will be delayed a little (beginning of April).

Launch in Canada will not be until this summer because nothing is ready up here.
