in those cases, i don't. usually i can see the shaft serial which is sufficient. if i cannot, then i just don't record it...
1) On small hand written notebook a) date b) customer name c) racket (* denote a fake) d) string e) tension f) $ 2) Easy Note on my Android phone with individual customer name , and each note will show all racket that particular customer has strung. a) racket b) string and tension c) label (yymmdd-#)stick on the cap. 3) An excel sheet stored in my phone, showing the # of different string that I've strung on my phone. I update every month.
i still think Google Doc Spreadsheet is the best way to go. i can access it from any computer/phone as long as i am online.
Mine is kept on a spreadsheet on excel but left in Dropbox so that I can access it anywhere whenever I'm online.
I record the Name, Racquet, String, Tension as well as the transactions. It also helps to say you remember your customer's tension or have it recorded. It is one of those small things that a customer may remember you for.
Logged in 2013 rackets in 2011 not including tournaments maybe another 600. maybe did at least 1500 of the 2000. Jr Nationals, Adult Nationals, US Open, Pan American Games, World Championships, and a couple of Local tournaments. Good to keep a log, refer back to customers tensions and when they last strung their racket. Also interesting to compare serial numbers too, if a customer loses a racket and same serial number pops up under another name red flag. It did happen to me.
Recording the serials, nice. What did you end up doing when you found the racket in the wrong hands though?
Got it back to the right owner. It was a kid who misplaced it and another teammate found it, couldnt find the owner. Looked up serial #'s and saw same # and different people. It was a player I knew so I mentioned it to him and he got it back.
Ohh Thanks a lot. Well I have made Changes to the same file you can re-download it from same spot. I take all the amount upfront as a advance so never thought about it. (It reduces the losses in case you break the racket )
