Well, it got power.. My 3ug4 string NBG98 @ 26lb.. The shaft is stiff i found. High clear just feel nothing and go all the way. Still need to adject my timing. I used to the AT900T 4ug4 and I am still little off for smashing, hope to get the adjustment soon. but drop shot is nice, fast and tighter. Overall, it is faster and power if you can adjust with the timing.
When come to smashing... the contact point is very crucial. If one were to hit the shuttle too fast, off course there is no power. The timing is slower compared to my previous AT-700 (Old model). I learnt to wait, wait and smash when using my Arc Saber 10 compared to AT-700. Thanks.
I experience the same thing as you. But now I can use this weapon to its max potential. FYI I had removed the lead tape. I felt better without it tho. Yes I agree it needs time to adjust to this AS10. But once you in, you'll love it.
wonder if AT 700 or Arc Saber 10. will do better in term of power. not sure if some pros change it because yonex ask.
I guess if you are Lin Dan, YY won't change you. But for any other players, $$$ from YY can change anything. (Note: The price $ only US$20k for 1st place on super tournaments.)
Personal Review Previous Racket: AT-900T 3UG4 /w BG68Ti @25lbs Current Racket: Arcsaber 10 2UG5 /w BG80 @25lbs First Impression: Upon receiving the racket *thanks Dink * it felt heavy... like really heavy. I was afraid that I was going to regret my purchase as I thought that I couldn't handle the weight. But reading reviews really wanted me to get a 2U to feel the powaaa . Warm-ups: After a couple of strokes this racket reaaaaally grew on me. Almost every shot was effortless and went to far back court. Vibrations were very minimal - i like . The overall weight of the racket so far didn't seem to bother me but we'll soon see... Game Play: For some odd reason... I really feel that I move almost as fast as I did when I used the technique. Net play, clears, and drives were effortless. What's more, my weak backhand seem to improve as I was able to clear. Retrieving smashes were also very very easy as the shuttle just bounces off the strings. Smashes were... horrible for me at first *due to timing* but after a while got much better. I'm hoping to see the true powaaaa of the Arc10 within a month =]. Overall: Power: 9.0 Defense: 9.5 Maneuverability: 9.5 Control: 9.0 Overall Feel: 9.5
Well... glad you love the racket. There are still many people who only want a racket for smashing... Especially when playing doubles, recovering smashes from the opponents is one of the crucial factor in deciding your victory.... Arc Saber 10 is all rounded... Thanks.
I went to my local badminton store the other day to get my hands on the new ArcSaber 10..........something i felt very strange, the G4 handle feels a lot bigger than Armortec G4 handle........is it just me? or u guy feel the same way Thanks
yeah it feels a little wider =/..i had to take off the orginal grip, applied a thinner grip and then i applied my overgrip i use. But yeah...i definitely did not like how the grip size suddenly got bigger.. >.<
I think some people have to stop letting placebo effects get to them its been said many times the Arc10 lacks some power, yet many people still try to convince themselves (and others) its a powerful racquet... Just because its the latest racquet (and a flaming red!) doesn't necessarily mean it has to be very powerful, the Arc10 is very manouverable, easy to swing and clear, and feels very nice for backhands because its easy to swing. The Arc10 isn't a weak racquet, but compared to the likes of; AT700, AT900P, NS9000X, MP100, Ti10 (old), it doesn't come near these racquet's power. It is however probably one of the best trade off for power vs defense. Personally i find the smashing power lacking, especially since i'm playing mixed doubles so much nowadays and smashing at almost anything above my head. I do however enjoy using it in singles, and in doubles where i won't be smashing much or where i'll be playing at the net. The Arc10 was also great for patronising my pretty partner when i returned like 50 consecutive smashes of hers from the service line right back to her position to smash it again. Of course as karma normally has it, she accidently whacked me in the head with my MP100
Was it accidently as in "acting" it ?! hehehe! Therefore meaning she did it on purpose for revenge! I go for my Arc7 yeh as primary!!!!!!! Still like my Arc10 thou which I use from time to time.
It was a real accident, i walked on court and my opponents cleared it towards me and she didn't know i was there, but i do wonder why she was swinging at my head height She's also used my Arc10 before and commented it felt less powerful than my AT900T, my Arc10 is strung with NBG98 at 25lbs, and AT900T with BG85 at 25lbs. I actually feel more power from my AT900T as well, i guess i'll try my best to snap the NGB98 while playing and restring it with BG85 for a better comparison. How much would a RSL X2 Gold be in HK?
Moggy, Try 25/27 on the NGB98 next time. I personally use 25.5/27.5 on both my Arc7 and 10s which I like. I'm not sure about the RSL, however Pete would most likely know the answer to that.
For me NBG98 at low tension doesn't feel right but at high it does. You can get the RSL X2 Gold for $165AUD in Australia.
