The press got mention : http://thestar.com.my/services/printerfriendly.asp?file=/2012/9/24/sports/20120924080124.asp&sec= http://www.nst.com.my/sports/badmin...ge63Dp:/he3D03Dn63Frea-rti3D19.111w5ii/ed-1.1 http://www.sinarharian.com.my/sukan/terbuka-jepun-malaysia-raih-2-emas-dan-satu-perak-1.87845 http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/Sukan/20120924/su_06/Chong-Wei-tebus-kekecewaan
I like the way GLY plays - fearless in frontcourt and with the audacity to exploit gaps, especially on crosscourt. First noticed this during the All-England earlier in the year. Even in the very first rally of the final yesterday, she did an unexpected clear towards Rijal's backhand - totally unexpected by the Indonesian man who could only manage to parry short. Finished off by CPS on a disguised drop shot. The Malaysian defence has improved too, but GLY still lacks the extra to actually turn defence into attack under pressure. Fortunately CPS has improved in this respect, as well as in his overall speed and finishing. When they attack, CPS almost always focuses on the channel, good tactics which worked well yesterday. The good thing with this pair is that unlike their more illustrious MD top pair, CPS/GLY could maintain focus even when trailing in the game. Their wins at BAC 2010, Bitburger 2011 and at the 2nd game yesterday are testimonies to that. But having said that, the Malaysian XD curriculum is still under development ...... Malaysia still lags quite far behind ......
soon Ong Jian Guo/Lim Yin Loo and newcomer Tan Aik Quan/Lai Pei Jing will follow up to be capable XD pairs for Malaysia...
that's pretty poor. they really deserve the praise. and really surprising, coz, with all due respect, how often does Malaysia win a mixed doubles Super Series?!
which radio channel? i heard FM 988, got mentioned chill, just one radio station maybe? and maybe just highlight news???
even if 10 radio stations mentioned it but it's not among the highest rating radio it still will not be known to the public. This achievement should be publicize so that it is known Malaysian had made a history even we did not get gold medal in OG this year. This achievement is actually a cure for a poor performance of no.1 MD of Msia. . .they made my heart broke :crying:
All the major newspapers mentioned it. 988 is the highest rated chinese radio station in Malaysia but many people dont listen to radio nowadays. TV news mentioned it alongside LCW's win.
Mention and publicize is different thing. Remember how they publicize KKK/TBH last time? And also HHashim after AE, they should do the same to CPS/GLY in my opinion.
You mean make one MTV of Goh/Chan wins with the song "Jika Anda Fikirkan Anda Boleh"? during Hafiz time when he won AE, everyday can see...
Of course lah, KKK/TBH won the AG after 36 years. After that they won AE. Hafiz won AE. Media only feature more on major titles, you can see they publicize LCW's AE win and OG silver more than all his other titles. The fact the newspapers dedicate a whole article just on CPS/GLY's win is considered good
OT : For KL folks : http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2012/9/26/sports/12081658&sec=sports
Probably good for this pair NOT to get so much attention. Then there is less chance for them to end up like Hafiz Hashim or Koo and Tan. But really, attention to Mixed Doubles in general in Malaysia is still poor compared to Indonesia, China and other great XD nations.
but Lee Chong Wei gets the attention the most and then don't see him end up like Hafiz and Koo and Tan...
Cos LCW didnt win major title until later. Those 3 won AE at young age, early in their career CPS/GLY are something like that too, slowly improve, from GP Gold, then SS, then....
typical Msian mentality.....you need to convince them by winning majors.... eg. before OG, no one really care about Pandelela....not interested about diving.. after OG, everyone going gaga over diving sport...
