I seriously doubt any of Ina players can advance to SF Tommy has the best chance, others less than 50 % (probably Firda or Ahsan/Hendra if they can perform really well)
INA has 5 representatives in the QF and I hope at least 1 make it to the SF. Nevertheless, all could ended up losing today. MS Tommy Sugiarto vs Marc Zweibler - a small breakthrough for Tommy as he reaches his first QF in SS event (thanks to the luck of the draw). He faces a winnable match against Marc and I hope he really does his best to progress to the SF. WS Adrianti Firdasari vs Wang Lin - the H2H is overwhelmingly in Wang Lin's favor (0-3). A QF finish is a good enough result for Firda. MD Hendra Setiawan/Mohd Ahsan vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun [2] - Fu/Cai are not in-form at the moment and this will perhaps be the best time to beat the reigning World and Olympic champions. Still, I think the CHN pair has the edge. XD Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati [6] vs Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen [4] - the INA pair fulfills their seeding. The Danish pair to progress. Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili vs Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei [2] - this will be a learning experience for Riky/Richi facing a top CHN pair and the reigning World & Olympic champions. It will be an excellent result if they can push the CHN pair to rubber-set.
You are too passive on your prediction ! Adrianti Firdasari vs Wang Lin - beautiful legs vs beautiful face. But I think beautiful legs will prevail ! Hendra Setiawan/Mohd Ahsan vs FHF/CY - Hendra Setiawan always like to play against this China pair to show that who is better in the net ! This will motivate him to perform better, Fu/Cai has been struggling recently and nearly lost to the INDIA pair last week. INA pair should take this match !
Looks like Lee Chong Wei is no longer alone in HK open, let's see the MAS represents for today's matches: Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif vs Kenichi Tago It is time for Arif to prove himself towards his seniors like Lee Chong Wei, Daren Liew and Chong Wei Feng although there will be a tough match against Kenichi Tago. Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying vs Yoo Yeon Seong/Jang Ye Na I think Korea pair might take this, however only if Chan/Goh in good form then it would turn the tide. But watch out for Yoo/Jang as he almost outlast Xu/Ma last week. Goh Liu Ying/Lim Yin Loo vs Bao Yixin/Tang Jinhua Able to beat DEN pair and INA pair is not an easy task, now Goh/Lim face real test as the chinese pair is too strong to handle. Hoon Thien How/Tan Wee Kiong vs Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan I don't think Hoon/Tan can win against chinese pair, Liu/Qiu is way too fast in speed and have the same capability with the korea pairs. Lee Chong Wei vs Nguyen Tien Minh Total piece of cake for LCW even he not using full force against his opponent, while Nguyen will have to use full force if he want to beat LCW so badly. Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong have a free ride to semifinal when their main target Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun consisted walkover.
Surprising that Arif had never met Tago in the senior scene .... they were in the same junior batch with Chen Long.
Ko Sung Hyun suffered a hip injury, forcing him and LYD to withdraw ..... reported by Badzine: http://www.badzine.net/news/hong-kong-open-r16-%E2%80%93-a-show-of-quality-from-new-and-old/22308/
Well... in my opinion, INA have to start sending their junior MD players for example Ronald/Selvanus and the players similar with their age, otherwise it will be too late already. Firda achievement in WS is quite surprising, considered the player she beat on their way to quarterfinal.
Or sychncronized swimming But seriously Firda will be quite handful to WL WL has to dig deep in lengthy fashion to beat my girl
