Good future for MAS WS in Julia Wong? at 21 Wang Yihan already won 3 titles this year. And that women LD call Jiang is formidable not to mention the still young Zhu Lin and Lu Lan. Dont think Julia can challenge them for honours. 1 or 2 upsets in the early ronds maybe but definitely not winning major tournaments consisitently. But she has improved alot in past one year and her game is tighter now. Her best achievements would be around world No.5 or 6 if she is consistent. I dont think she can amtch China's best. Then again MAS players usually mature late and start getting few good results around the age of 24, 25 and 26. But never be at the top. The fact that we have someone who can replace WMC shows how much WS in MAS has improved compared to the whipping girls we got in the 80s and 90s.
hmm....its not fair to compare wyh and julia wong...just like u compare chen jin to kbh.......lets compare wmc and julia... and yes...i agree she can reach world top 8...
After watching Julia's match against Pi Hongyan during yesterday's Indian Open finals, I cannot help but encourage Julia to put on a smile once a while. A SMILE WILL BRIGHTEN UP HER GAME!
CHina players train very hard starting at very young age and competition within china herself is super tough. Those who succesfully made it big as very tough, mentally & physically... Malaysia dont have that luxury to torture children... might get sue!
We'll go again discuss on how malaysia was different from China. This is something her juniors have to cover. Learn again on how to do it better. being as competitive as China isn't a dream. Possible. Kind of remember of how Japan came to PestaBolaMerdeka looooonnng ago to learn how we trained our junior footballers. Who are they now?
julia was born in at the end of 1987, so technically, she is only 21 years old. She will turn 22 in september.
Julia Wong will be the WS equivalent of LCW. She's going to be better than WMC and it's not because of BWF ranking.WMC wins by grinding her opponents to defeat with her determination but lacks opponent awareness.Eg when her opponent's body language indicates fatigue, she still go for the lines (ending in errors) when some intelligent placement will win the point.WMC must learn to make full use of her intelligence to win.Her movement is dreadful to watch and due for overhaul as it seems to aggravate her injury. For someone with such a short ,scratchy experience,JW has done very well and shown a lot of promise.Expect her to continue with ups and downs in tournaments. She's either going to crash out early or leave late in tournaments. As she builds up her experience, her confidence will be more assured and it will show when she starts to deliver consistently.Give another 2 years for this gem to shine and then on to steadily dazzle with brilliance.
yes she's a figther & she's still improving which is good for Malaysia women singles, a t least Rashid can have some relived as for Wong MC too someone like Wong PX can "share " some responsibiltity
Sonymak, Yours statement is correct. But, in BC, there is some BCers that is Bolehians. Refer to what i quote and you will understand.... ** Not fair to compare Julia Wong against WYH. Then is fair enough to compare with WMC?? Maybe compare to players that are weaker that JW is acceptable by Limsy. ** Bcos of Japan football team paid a visit to Malaysia long time ago to learn how Malaysia train their footballers, now they are elite team in Asia. No Malaysia, No Japan.....
hmm,how many uber cup, sudirman cup,og and wc have mas won to earn the status to compare to china? even japan won uber cup even usa won wc malaysia? or u think mas and china is on same level? then go ahead and compare,i no objection
