“We normally play better in our second tournament back-to-back but we are skipping the Korea Open next week, so we have to see how things goes. We will aim to get into at least the semi-finals,” said Kien Keat.

“However, the good news is he has fully recovered from a knee injury and he is coping well in training. He has always done well on home ground and I hope he can reach the final again.”

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
now, will jasonmarc ask lcw and koo/tan withdraw from malaysia open as they not aiming the title?;)

That was the reason the they make noise but not necessarily they are right, they just see other people, want to simply follow. For singles, Misbun replied abt LCW's schedule bf.
For KKK/TBH, as I pointed out, it's not much difference, just less 1 tourney in total. Fu/Cai's participation reduced a lot in 2009;)

Those 'facts' are not from me, as i pointed out that during Singapore Open 2009 when LCW said he was not well prepared..........lots of people made that comments.......

I wont asked LCW & kkk/tbh to withdraw, because even a great player like LD, also wont speak out loud that he is aiming only the title, he usually say something like... 'i will try my very best in the tournament, and see what can i do......' in a very polite way.....and so did kkk/tbh and LCW....If they dare to speak out loud like that.....i think they will get boombarded very soon....;)

So its natural for a player to hold back a bit before a tournament started.......;)

But the 'fact' was the other way round ! they won the first tournament, Denmark Open and lost out the second in their europe 'back to back' tourneys...........how come they said they usually play well in the 2nd of the back to back tourney.....:confused:

See, they actually just wanted to lessen their pressure in Mas Open............so they could perform better........

What we BCers, BAM and/or KKK/TBH have wished for may not come true

We will need to see what will happen at the 2010 Malaysian Open SS.

    1) Pls study the whole year's schedule. 2009 AE & Swiss, China & HK, Spore & INA, then Msia GP Gold, WC & MAcau.
Denmark is unique, since 2007, for some reason Msia doubles win in Denmark but not France
    2) You should know by now KKK/TBH do better in Europe tourneys than Asia ones, Msia is not home ground advantage for them.
    3) This yr, another factor different is WPT is KKK's XD partner. It's different than when KKK partner NHL, like what happen at SEA Games

Studying trend need to look at 4 to 5 factors :D:D

MAS holds 2 of the No.1 World Ranking Positions at the start of 2010

    .
It's a surprise that MAS still holds 2 of the No.1 World Ranking Positions at the start of 2010:
    * No.1 Mens Singles - Lee Chong Wei
    * No.1 Mens Doubles - Koo Kien Keat / Tan Boon Heong

Somehow MAS fans are still not satisfied.:confused::confused:

Let's talk about Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong going for quality instead of quantity

    .
Yes, that comment was to say that KKK/TBH got the World No.1 position when 2009 ended, and MAS fans should be satisfied.

    They achieved it (in 2009) because they participated in more tournaments than the other Top 4;
    Rank ... Country ... Players .......... Points ...... Tournaments
    1 .......... MAS ....... KKK/TBH ...... 74779.26 .........14
    2 .......... KOR ....... JJS/LYD ....... 69077.47 ......... 9
    3 .......... INA ......... MK/HS ......... 68888.79 ......... 11
    4 .......... DEN ....... MB/CM ......... 65393.42 ......... 11

This year, 2010, is going to be different for KKK/TBH. They will participate in fewer tournaments.

Let's look at this first tournament of 2010, the Korean Open. If JJS/LYD win it, therefore winning 9,200 points, they would be No.1, overtaking KKK/TBH immediately.

Hence, we are saying BAM is willing to have KKK/TBH not desperately wanting to be No.1.

Please refer again to the title of this thread:

When they go for quality, maybe thats mean they wont win as much or unable to maintain their WR 1 in 2010 but will try to make a break thru for at least a major......a major title for kkk/tbh indeed is a quality break thru.....for MAS. :D

It's no longer for KKK/TBH to be ranked as World No.1

    .
That's exactly what BAM has now wished for KKK/TBH to do.

It's no longer important for KKK/TBH to be ranked as World No.1. It is now the quality (major tournaments) that matters.

quality is always important, players dont have to play a lot to prove a point, maybe ranking #1 in the world is good but it's just a title. it's the way how every player perform on the court that actually matters the most. winning is always a bonus, playing on the court is what really matter the most.
