Oh I wouldn't say OG is cashless although on the surface there is no official prize money. In fact if a Malaysian wins a OG gold, he/she will stand to win much more than any SS title. The government, the well-wishers, the sponsors and commercial houses will be there to reward them aplenty! It is not a secret that even members of past Thomas Cup victories were richly rewarded with cash, real estate, etc.
i'm well aware of those side bonuses and compensation. I am talking about the tournament prize only since my counterparts keep boasting about their 40k USD prize (shared) as accomplishment
