I have been using Yonex shoes for many years and when the last pair needed renewing I went to a good badminton sports shop in order to buy the latest Yonex shoes. What would normally be a very simple process turned out to be very difficult and at several points I thought I am not going to be able to feel comfortable on court when I play. They had about 6 different styles and I tried all of them regardless of cost in different sizes and none of them fitted me properly. From past experience I knew they had a tendency to be a bit small but even allowing for this I could not get a pair to fit. So the guy in the shop suggested I try Li-Ning which I was very skeptical about but as soon as I put them on I could not believe how comfortable they were but at the same time were so light it made me feel as though I was in bare feet! They only had 2 different styles in the range so I wanted the most expensive but they didn't have my size so I bought the cheaper ones at £35 and having played in them several times I can honestly report that they are the best badminton shoes I have ever owned and so I cannot recommend them highly enough and I just hope that Li-Ning sell enough gear in the UK to guarantee the supply.
They are the Li-Ning Gold Club Lite which can be seen here http://www.tennisnuts.com/shop/badminton/badminton-shoes/li-ning-indoor-shoes/offer.html I believe that shoe manufacturers will use the same last to size all of their shoes so I don't think that choosing a different style will change their fit. It is also very clear when you see them in the flesh that they are very well made with a lot of attention to detail. I used to rave about Yonex but Li-Ning have taken over their mantle as far as I am concerned.
I can only agree. Bought the Li-Ning Metal X (AYZF007-3) a week ago and had the YONEX SHB 86EX before. It's increadible how much better the Metal X are. Very comfortable and light weight. The feeling of bare feet combined with very good protection and cushioning really describes how they feel.
