Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 16-Jun-2013 (A Short Report) . Here is a short report for our Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 16-Jun-2013. We thank trainees for removing themselves from our 'Booking List' when unable to attend; therefore opening up vacancies for new trainees wishing to join us. Reminder : If you are unable to attend, kindly remove your name ASAP so that others can replace you, otherwise you will be fined. Why? Because there could other CCCers wishing to attend (checking to book in - up to the last hours), but finding themselves missing out after we have FULL HOUSE. At this CATS, we welcomed 2 new trainees ; 1. Sam-P.................She is a new BCer 2. Merinda-N............She is a new BCer too Hope they had enjoyed training with us. Sam-P suggested for the topic on 'Doubles Low Service' to be conducted. Tracy-T wishes to improve her 'Net-Play'. Chong-S wishes to improve her 'Cross-Court Net-Play'. The 'Laws of Badminton' were explained/discussed. The 'Grip' to control the 'Shining of the Racket-Face' was also explained/discussed. Some points to remember : * For the 'Doubles Low Service', it requires gentleness and accuracy. * For gentleness, 'Pushing the shuttlecock' is recommended (straightening your elbow). * For accuracy, the 'Shinning' of the racket-face is to be maintained throughout the 'Push'. * For a longer length, push with a longer 'follow-through'. * It's best to serve to the 'Middle-T'. This gives minimal time for the receiver to reply. Besides, both you and your partner, are best to be in the middle of the 'Angle of Return'. * Note : "Because it is best to do a 'Service' that allows minimum time for the receiver to reply", the receiver should be ready to receive before the server gets into position to serve. * For a good 'Net-Play', it requires the 'Maxima' to be on your side of the net. * Note: As long as you keep your 'Maxima' on your side of the net, you can execute with a higher trajectory. * etc, etc, ...... I feel that some trainees are still not understanding the lesson taught here. Please ask me questions next session (to answer any doubts that you have). We didn't have time to do Chong-S' request : The 'Cross-Court Net-Play'. Comments on our 6 attending trainees: 1. Richard-L needs better 'Grip-Control'. The 'Shining of the racket-face' is not properly directed. 2. Chong-S also needs better 'Grip-Control'. 3. Tracy-T is improving with better 'Net-Play'. 4. Timothy-T needs more practice with the 'Low Service'. 5. Sam-P, being new, is doing OK at her first lesson. 6. Merinda-N, being new too, is also doing OK at her first lesson. However, better 'Grip-Control' is found a problem. More training for this is required. Below, we shall post out our next Booking List (for Sunday 23-Jun-2013) for trainees to book in. .
