I dont think that LCW will withdraw from Macau Open. The reason for that is the ranking points to keep his no.1 status although he mostly likely will be losing again. He does not seem to care about his loses to LD anymore. Also, he wants to gauge his standard against LD and learn more about LD's play.

that mean u dont understand about the ranking system
even if he won macau open,7000points have 0 effect on his ranking
    its because of yonex requirement

Macau Open is not even sponsored by Yonex now. The title sponsor is Kumpoo.

Lin Dan has clearly not been at his best this year, LCW has been on his best ever form, leading up to worlds LD didn't look 100% fit and still won. Since then he has defeated LCW 3 times in a row (4 if you count the invitational event before HK). LCW has never beaten LD twice in a row.

LCW can play as many practice games as he wants against the other MAS players, but their backup players are not of super series quality. China on other hand have 6 top top players and no doubt have other players in the back up /youth squads who would be number 1 in many other countries.

I've always wondered how they came up with that name "Kumpoo". No wonder they don't sell much in the western world! :p. ....Hey, what racket are you using? Come poo. No thank you, I just wanna know what racket you have. :p

Coach Rashid Sidek mentioned about persuading LCW to take some rest and withdraw from Macau Open, which seems unlikely though, considering it's tomorrow.

Positively, LCW can 'spar' with the best, since LD and the gang are competing too.

From a negative point of view, LCW= tired (at least IMO).

Why are they competing in GP Gold anyway? Even LD? He complained about the no. of SS that players have to participate a while back, thought he would skip this one and rest...

Maybe because it's Macau? ;) Can't blame them, other than the obvious casinos, the food is great!

    This is bad news...

If Rashid Sidek can't persuade LCW not to play too much, then there is no one who can help LCW.... Believing in hard work will pay off is a very fundamental value... once an idea has taken hold of the brain, it's almost impossible to eradicate...

all hope is gone... LCW is not going to win 2012OG gold medal... maybe he can't even retain the silver....

    this is very bad news...

If the event is not sponsored by yonex, would yonex want LCW to participate in it?

Depending on how you take it, the good/bad news is that Lin Dan has withdrawn.

So, Lin now has more time to prepare for the SS Finals, which will also be in China this year.

Must be the appearance money which could be more than the title money. ;) Any insider story? ;)

Or free 100,000 chips for casino. ;)

I like the 'come poo' thingy. No I don't want to 'come poo' it.. lol. In hokkien, it sounds like 'kum pui'. You can ask lindan or lcw to translate. lol. ;) What a smart brand naming.. lol. ;)

it would be very very difficult from now on, for LCW to win a major title.

If previously it was only Lin Dan, and LCW was repeatedly boosted by his wins when LD was 'injured' walk out etc, or absent, now there is even Chen Long.

Against these 2 chinese, LCW cant perform. And i dont see how LCW can when they meatt next, sigh......

Much as I like LCW to win at least one major in the olympic gold or world title, as expected of his world No 1 rank, i think LCW is like a spent force, chasing the shuttle the wrong way and crazily....susah susah.............

LCW i think i cant rely on you to get the medal anymore.

I am looking into my crystal ball here:

After OG LCW will go independent, and get a fat contract from a new equipment sponsor (maybe from a large Chineese company :) ).. Then he will focus more on his powergame, with never tech, and focus on his one and only obstacle CL, and as LD has left the scene he will manage to analyse and beat CL in WC and gets his well deserved win :) ...

can we assume AE as a big tournament won by LCW? :) i know that most of Malaysian media said that LCW havent won any major title in his carrier and they assumed that AE as SS & PSS event only, but in terms of prestige, AE has a long history compared to other tournaments :) ... for me winning AE can be considered as winning a major title as well... and remember, even the legend like PG won it once way back in 1999 and havent won world title and olympic title... TH won the world title, asian title and olympic title but he still yet to win AE :) only LD is the most succesful player in the world now winning almost everything :) I think LCW can still won gold in OG next year provided he able to improve on his fitness and tactical game :)

Nah, though CL has come far in the past year, he's no equal to LCW or LD, who are both in their own class. The few times that CL beat LCW was when CL was given w/o by the his team mates in the quarters and semis. So he was well rested to meet LCW in the finals.

LCW is IMO, paying the price for the complacency and outright lack of clear and potent thinking/planning of the people who help shape his professional destiny. Although he can boss over every other player who is even marginally below his level of play... but when it comes to crunch time, he folds up in the face of probing, unforgiving examination by players who have no fear of him, and who are as fast and powerful as him.

His belief system has been subtly altered to the extent that when he plays LD and now CL, he goes in with a defensive mindset. His people have been impotent in resetting his belief system. Its in his eyes, his hesitant clears, weak smashes, his hang-dog expressions, puzzled looks, everything. Sadly, he is not even good at covering up his emotions or mindset when he is under seige; he is openly advertising his mindset to his opponent.

It doesn't matter if a particular player has been "programmed" to beat him or not. If a player can beat LCW consistently, he can beat anyone else. Period. And that is what we have seen recently.

Unless LCW does some very deep soul-searching and comes up with the ways to shed his inhibitions and fears, and be willing to take the fight to the opposing guy without any reservation (and I mean the mental/psychological fight as much as anything else,) he's gonna be history, very soon.

That is IMO the unfortunate but very real situation.

Hopefully LCW can win WC & OG...But a fat deal from Chinese company?
Erm, Does that mean that after a player has come out from BAM and become independent, are they not allowed to be sponsored by Yonex? As it was the case with MK/HS which is sponsored by Flypower after they left PBSI
