Players from 2 different countries can still play together, except that they cannot play as a pair to represent a country (eg. England). Anyway, my thought is there are only a handful of major tournaments (eg. Olympics, Commonwealth game, Uber, Thomas) that Chris/Bankier can't play (if UK & Scotland becomes "independent"). But that is 2-3 years down the road.
If Chris/Bankier are together, they can still make a bigger impression in many SS & PSS, and I guess the money is better too.
I guess Bankier has other "factors" impacting her to make the decision now (after Olympics 2012).
Wishing her all the best. I think Scotland do have a few promising man and woman that can pair up with her (Robert Blair & Kirsty Gilmour ???) :)

Should be continued here [IMG]: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/101517-Imogen-Bankier!?p=1994700#post1994700

Blair would be a short term solution being on the wrong side of 30 already. Briggs mentioned in the other thread was the obvious choice for me as well, provided he still aims to be an international player. And seeing as he regularly plays in the German league he might be ...(Obviously?) she just didn't feel at home at Milton Keynes and only stuck around for the Olympics or found the atmosphere too lackadaisical or didn't like the new coach's approach.
FOr the glory of Scotland she could have paired up with Van Rietvelde who is in the MK setup so can now be crossed of the potentials list. Don't think the coaches would split up the Adcock/Bankier combo anyway as their focus should be on Rio.

I haven't seen Watson in almost a year now, he took time off to go skiing in Canada, he's back playing in the German League, but I'm really not sure of his level at the moment, probably his physical state isn't too bad, but not sure if his mind is there.

For me, he's the only choice at the moment, PVR won't play with Bankier, Blair would be short term and already has a partner, and Campbell/Gilmour aren't at the right level (yet, and probably never will seeing there progress)

Someone must've done him a favour to get paid to play there and he is doing well so far. With (more than?) half the Scots and English playing in the Bundesliga enough contacts to go around :D ...
Had included Campbell or Carder in my original draft but way too far off to be realistic. That Campbell/Gilmour performance at WC11 was appalling [IMG] ...

I know we're quite a bit of topic, but who cares, it's interesting :p:p:p

Watson is in the acceptance list for Scottish international (as is some Koreans, Japanese so worth the trek this year to the new venue ;)

Carder too young and inexperienced, Campbell not good enough, might be worth it trying to convince Kieran to enter some XD as well as MS...

Agreed their performance was horrendous, but didn't expec anything really.

That is a close score on the Women's singles 25-23 to Yao Jie in third game.

Yeah, after DEN SSP & FRA SS losing, finally she tasted victory here.
Schenk v Yao J should be match of final day, so tense at the end.
Congrats to all 5 champs :)

Veteran Yao Jie is amazing. She makes her vast experience and maturity really count, practically coaching herself to adjust to the opponent and the situation. That's why I believe she will make a very good coach.

At 35 and still performing like that, I consider her the Peter Gade of WS, Ms Longevity, Ms Evergreen!

Let's give Yao Jie a big round of applause and salute her!

Chou Tien Chen whom I always thought is capable of upsetting higher-ranked opponents more often than not finally proves me right and takes his first GPG title (am I right?). Congratulations!

He is currently ranked 30, even lower than his teammate Hsu Jen Hao but that should change soon.

No biodata on him, I believe he's not yet 25 and he seems to be progressing at the same time as Darren Liew and Viktor Axelsen.
