Hey Sir Dink, I am a big fan of BG 80.Thanks to your review i have found a string that suits my play. However recently i have found the BG 68ti which have the same diameter as BG80.Now according to you latest rating you did not rate the BG 68ti that well.Beside of the fall back of feel what other things that you felt lacked in the BG 68ti compared to BG 80? I have been wanting to try it out but never have the chance to.Do you think i should give it a go ?
As with nano and titanium strings, I personally skip because, in general, they don't grip the shuttle as well and don't feel as good as its peers. I would stick with BG80, I'm not a fan of BG68Ti.
I have tried the bg85 and it's very nice imo. Right now I'm planning to buy 1- packs of bg 80 but I have never tried the bg 80. I'm a smasher =D I'm not sure if I should get it because I've heard that the outer jacket could fray or something.
BG80 is more durable than BG85. The outer jacket fraying early is usually due to a less than ideal string job. I have used over 50 sets of BG80 and have never had premature fraying of the outer jacket. In fact, I've never had fraying of the outer jacket at all but I know what you mean as I've seen it happen to others.
bg85 is nice, i prefer it to bg80 myself, i've been trying bg80 for a while now, and i think i'll go back to bg85 once they break ...
one thing i notice about all yonex strings is that, after some playing time with them, the strings become less crisper.. and they produce metallic "ting" when they hit the shuttle... i also feel that when it sounds like that, the bounce is a little bit unpredictable.. leading to less control... could you agree with me on this?..
Nice Collection... are you planning to add more to your collection? If so, you can start by looking into acquiring the Babolat Hyperbraid strings.
To be honest, I have no idea. I get those strings whenever i string for a friend of mine who uses exclusively Babolat badminton rackets and strings (not sure if he's sponsored [in the master's circuit] or he just knows the babolat rep) in Ontario. He gave me the Hyperbraid (0.70mm) and the Hyperbraid micro (0.67mm) to try. I don't know what the cost of the strings are, however I'd say the Hyperbraid micro are comparable to BG-85 as a control string, but are more grippy (feels almost like running your fingers across sandpaper). The regular Hyperbraid is a soft string (from a stringer's perspective). Unfortunately i haven't had time to test the string on any of my rackets b/c i'm having too much fun playing with the Ashaway MP and BG-70Pro strings. I've tried them all. I keep an extra pack in a shoe box as my collection grows. I've only tried babolat string once on a training racket, came pre-strung. Can't get babolat string in USA. If you have an extra pack and want to send it to me, I'd be happy to add it to my collection.
I found out where you can buy those babolat strings you can try shuttle house. I was just browsing around today and luckily found these strings.
I was just wondering if anyone, including Dinkalot, has tried Eagnas strings? Someone offered to restring my friend's racket today and one of the strings he offers is the EB-80 and the EB-85 from Eagnas. He says that it's similar to 85s, but cheaper. If no one has tried it, I might try stringing with it to test it out. I'd just like some input before I try a string I've never heard of before though.
Nbg 98 NBG98 is Much better ! Better power and hitting soung then the 66 but yet much more durable ! Love it very much..
