Ti/ Non Ti Is the "string tension" with Ti, let say Yonex BG65Ti more lasting than the string without Ti???? I heard that it can last for at least 3 months.
ML 0.69 mm According to my bro who had a chance to smack a few with this string, it's very repulsive.
I don't think I'll have that problem I've frequently seen people use ML within my tension range (26-27lbs or so)
ML and ML XL are rated to 33lbs. However, some strings, when strung at very high tensions, need special care with the starting knot. For example, at above 28lbs for BG85 it will be a bit of a risk to use any knot other than a starting knot to pull that first cross string at the top. I find that a 4 to 5 loop starting knot at the top for the first cross string to be the safest. Also beware of using scissors to cut off unwanted string ends as accidents can happen. Use a small nail clipper as the sharp edges are not exposed.
Somewhere in this forum, I read that, "Times change, people change & string is no exception..." (or something to that extent)... My personal preference for string: Ashaway Micropower (0.66mm) Yonex BG 80 Ashaway PG66 Neon Yonex BG 85
i finally tried it taneepak. i strung the carbonex with ashaway mp 0.66 at 25/27.5 and here is my review. the string feels soft to me. my clears are easier and more accurate. but my drop shots are affected. when i use my iso racket strung with bg66 at 23lbs, all i have to do is touch the shuttle about a foot behind the net and the shuttle will fall on the other side. however when i use my carbonex with ashaway string, when i touch the shuttle it fell right in front of me. the soft touch have no repulsion. and drop shots from the baseline also falls a bit short. maybe i haven't accustomed myself with the feel of the string yet. but i am loving the clears and you were right taneepak, even at 25/27.5 the string did not pose any problem to my wrist or shoulder. p/s : i sent the carbonex to a new stringer. i will be posting the string job in the other thread. hopefully this stringer is good so that i could just stick with this one.
Welcome to today's high tension badminton as played by almost all top players. The fundamental difference between tension then and now is speed. The shuttle is now sent flying in an instant because there is no trampoline lag. Your opponent will now have fractionally less time to respond. Of course this will mean you will have to readjust your timing and touch, but this is easy. After you get used to 25/27.5lbs, try to go up progressively by 1/2 to 1 lb each time. You will find that 28/30.8lbs will play much better than 25/27.5lbs. But take your time.
will do. it is good to experiment once in a while. sometimes it will get you to a better place. at the very least it will show you your limit.
The best (and most important) part is that you're happy/pleased with it. Nothing will work for you if you don't believe in it. Good on you, Leen!
yes that is very true. maybe i was positive about it. am glad myself that it all worked out for the better. if it did not i would have to cut the string. hehehehe.
Yes, BG-65 can produce a boom sound. You just have to string past 28 lbs to get that booming sensation
ok then ill get those because it's cheaper but i think 28lbs is to high for me though . Im not that good to handle that tension I think. doesnt it provide boom sound on lower tensions?
