Ok so i ended up buying it. Can anybody tell me wether its real or not? ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- racket model: Yonex Nanospeed 9000 Type X shaft serial: 6277552 cone code : 050762US source : Ebay - Item number: 150219169660 - User:discountedstock price : Roughly 35 ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- Thanks
It's counterfeit, simply by looking at the picture. Go and file a claim on Ebay and report the seller.
First thing, is the price. A real NS9K goes for for at least 1.5 times and up. Since this is supposedly a US coded racket, the price of this would normally be sold for $200 USD+. Second, the picture clearly indicates that it is a counterfeit because the "O" in Yonex is incorrect. Take a look at this picture since I own a NS9K. See the difference in the "O"?
Yeah I can see your point with the 0. It is thicker at the top and the bottom in the real one yes. This aside is there anyway to match the serial numbers to something to test for sure?
The date code and the serials correlate with each other, that would be the test. In this case, it is way off because the serial too high for the date code. I can mainly check the rackets via visuals. There are members here who are familiar with the serials to check. In most cases, if the visual is wrong, guaranteed the date/serial code will be incorrect and vice versa indicate that it is counterfeit.
Hi I brought another one also while i deal with the fake ebayer. Could you take a look and see what you think from first impression. I notice the 0 is ok.. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee286/yjc129/022.jpg?t=1203559119
yup agreed, the O in Yonex on the bit of cardboard attached to the strings of the racquet looks really weird, it's definitely not the official yonex font. try not to buy from ebay, the risk is not worth the reward.
