New Victor Racquet - The Meteor X80 ( MX80 )

Yeap..and i still think its the way how you swing it as well...i mean im not a fast arm type swinger..more to a long wristy type swing..and i find that anything below stiff does packs alot of punch.
Those new Kason which use Fu Hai Feng's spec..they're not that stiff too. (=

 

Read the post on Korea players switching back to superwave 35. Really feels that Meteor X80 may not a right racket for them.

Just to give a review of superwave 35 which i bought from Chris, 2 weeks ago.

Smashing from baseline: 9/10

Drop shots: 8.8/10

Defensive : 7.8/10

Lobbing : 9/10

Tension use : 29 (For the first time ) , previously using 28

String use: VS 850 Victor

Overall : A good double smashing racket

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't YYS using Spira 21?

 

For social player who likes SW35 or similar spec, maybe need to try this racket first.
Because this racket weight about 92 gr, but when swing this racket feel very light. Manuver very fast, power little bit more than bs10. MX80 very stable. When hit the birdie, hitting sound so loud. Strung with BG65TI at 30 / 32 lbs.

I don't believe hypes. It's regardless of which national player use a racket. Many people forget the aim to find a racket that suit them, they take the racket which their idols use.

It's sure that somebody use the racket which is familiar because he/she played with it a long period. This doesn't mean that a new racket which could be used instead of it, is bad.

If JJS use the MX80 or the korean national team switch back to Yonex or something else, doesn't mean anything. A good racket which performs well, is still a good racket. If somebody famous use it or not, doesn't mean anything. Welcome to the hoax of advertising and product placement.

 

True..take a look at Nanospeed 9900 for example, not a lot of pros using them but heck they are a very very good racket. (=

I agree with you. It doesn't mean that we need to use N90 because Lin Dan uses it or AT900P because LCW uses it. Also, it doesn't mean that if Korea uses Victor, it means it is good or suitable for us. However, what I am trying to say is that there is a reason why most of the Victor sponsored player uses or switch to the SW35. The Spira 21 is supposed to be the "best" in terms of technology and material, however only a handful uses it when it was launched and it seems no one is using it now. Obviously with all the different models available to them, they have a choice to pick one which is the best and there's definitely a reason why they chose the SW35.

The MX80 has generated alot of interest and there's hype but if we take what we have seen from the pro's choice as indirect feedback, then this doesn't bode well. I will reserve my judgement until we see a real review.

I agree with what has been said about professional players and their choice of rackets and how we should not go for a certain model because so and so uses it. However, when a lot of professionals go for a certain model, it must be a good racket. But of course, if it doesn't suit you, then its not going to be a good racket for you. I for one am waiting for a good review on the MX80 so I can decide whether to get that or another SW35 (I have 2 already).

 

N90 heaviest...? I thought they were all W3...which is equivalent to 3U?

I am not here to compare the weight of the N90 vs MX80...but just trying to clarify what you said being N90 being stiffest and heaviest.

 

There are plenty of rackets heavier than 90 grams la.

this going to be OOT The stiffest racket that ever made is Mizuno tetracross 700 1st gen, YY Armortec 700 limited, Victor BS10 & SW35, YY NS9000X & 9900.......all of them is stiffest than N90 either 1st or 2nd edition

About the MX80, bengguan call me yesterday about the weight, he also surprised with the fact let's wait him for further explanation from where he get that stuff Especially when MX is only on 3U and 4U weight hehehehehehe
