Are Mark Alcala and Melvillne Ann Alcala related?
And if somebody is curious - Pratul Joshi is elder brother of Adtiya Joshi and both are from Prakash Padukone Academy.

Even in the BWF junior rankings, chinese have not occupied the top positions.. Strange!!!.. Their principle is to attack directly in the senior circuit i guess.

yes, you are right, if not mistaken, mark alcala is only 13 yo. mark is malvinne's younger brother. many (in PHI) said that he has a bright future ahead. last year he won Singapore youth series U-13

To be honest, my childhood image of badminton was a racket wielding Indonesian:D. Chinese were the table-tennis guys.

But given how Chinese win very less in juniors and are all over Olympics and World Champinships - I asked the question.

They don't play enough international tournaments for a seeded/top ranking. Song Xue must have gotten a seed based solely on his performance in the team tournament ...
And there are not "few" CHinese players here, there are just many many Indian ones in comparison :D;)

[IMG] Those same ones used to win in juniors as well ...

Basically... when the juniors are thrown into the "real battlefield", it's Charles Darwin all over again: survival of the fittest. The strong will be world beaters, the weak will be barely heard of.
That's why for each Chen Jin/Chen Long, you have Zhou Wenlong, Qiu Yanbo, Lu Yi, etc, etc.

So we just need to bring in some guys from CBA to other countries to take them to next stage.
Hmmmm I doubt Chinese would allow their coaches to be hired by Indians or Thais. :D

Don't know about Rituparna, but Dani should not give up without a fight. Let's see.
