I just tried the VS last night. I wouldn't buy them again. I think Mizuno over thought the design of the sole by putting in vertical grips at the toe area. It's an odd grip when going forward and also doesn't roll well going from heel to toe.
Happened to come across this post....I'm actually using the Wave Lightining RX 2 (blue one XD). To sum up my experience, i thought the cushioning in this shoe, especially the heel area, is simply fantastic, not even my previous Victor Sh9000ACE can rival it. Lateral movements are fine for me, on no occasion have i experienced any rolling while moving sideways, and i have no problems with the gripping as well. For me, im never going back to Yonex, Victor etc badminton shoes, and i've tried those before, but Mizuno's are simply one grade higher in terms of comfort and cushioning. But that's just one man's opinion and i'm sure there are people who will contest that, best try it out yourself if you want to know the difference.

Very cool!! I don't have to fly over to see the selection. I'll take one for you from www.canuckbadminton.com.
I just got my Mizuno Wave Fang RV from Malaysia, JB. I have played with it once and the feeling is really good. The grip, cushion, support is all good.
Cool. I'm looking into purchasing this myself. I was about to ask someone in the forum about this shoe. Thanks for the info. Will buy this as soon as I travel back to Japan.
IMO Mizuno vball shoes can be used for badminton but i do not think they are ideal. Mizuno vball shoes are all coded as 9KV-#####. Mizuno badminton shoes have model codes of 7KM-#####. The only mizuno badminton shoe i've seen in canada sold are the entry model wave gates. Whatever works for your body and feet i guess. I forget the model of my first pair about 15 years back, but after i graduated from university I was able to get mizuno badminton shoes again. I started with the Wave Smash S1, then 2 x of the Wave Smash S2 Fit, 1x Wave Smash RG3, 2 pairs of the Wave Smash Wide 2 and am currently using a Wave Fang Pro. I just got 2 pairs of the Wave Fang RV.
Wow ~ tats a gud price, so far can locate it @ RM395 in KL Nid to hunt around more ... thx for the infor
Thanks...but this is really over 10 + years of using mizuno shoes. When i buy a pair of shoes...i try to buy 2 at a time to save on shipping + possible customs charges since i have to order from overseas. Also, it helps that i know my mizuno shoe size so order online is not a problem. I only buy shoes every 2-3 years... 1 pair lasts me about 1 yr to 1.5 years. I play about 3 times a week (6-8 hours total)
