Yeah I was kidding about the VS850 but I seriously don't see the amazing zymax tension retention everyone seems to be experiencing. Considering how VS850 lost 14hz in one playing session as opposed to 7hz with BG80, it's a good indicative of what's to come. Interesting how VS850 was doing better unplayed.
I don't know if they've changed something but the last batch of ZM62 I received wasn't as good as what I used to have and I'm positive I didn't have Mk1 And since I mainly want to do comparisons, it's hard to find another .62 string...
10% prestretch isn't enough for vs850. Right off the bat, you already have a 30 Hz difference which amounts to 1 lb difference. As time goes by and as you play more with it, you're going to see a faster drop in frequency with the vs850 than bg80. That's why I used to manually prestretch vs850 by hand to get out 6-8 inches of slack before handing over to my stringer. This is better than doing 20% prestretch, which would reach excessive tensions if you're stringing above 28 lbs already.
After 2 weeks and about 7.5hours of play each, BG80 and VS850 are almost equal at respectively 99hz(7.63%) and 98hz(7.72%) loss. I just strung AdiPowerPro at 29lbs and will be posting results after 2 sessions. (the sound of that thing is nice... hard to wait 3 days to play with it )
After 24 days and about 10h of play each, BG80 is just as bad/good as VS850 in terms of tension loss. The adipowerpro I strung was weird. It was at a whooping 1337hz at 29lbs right out of the machine and lost 75hz and 91hz after one and two days respectively. After about a week and 5h of playing, it seemed to have settled at 1214hz. I've never seen such a big drop over the first two days... it'd be good if someone could string it too and see if it wasn't just a fluke.
I'm surprised by your bg80, but keep in mind it had a higher frequency initially and still has a higher frequency than vs850 that was similarly strung.
Got 2 rackets strung with zm62 @22x23 lbs by different stringers with ECP last wk, and they ended up with exactly the same frequencies! 1185 Hz at 1 day post stringing. 1135 Hz at 2 day post. 1105 Hz after about 6 hrs play.
In terms of percentage they pretty much lost the same thing. Maybe you should be impressed by the VS850 instead
just a few extra out of the machine frequencies: BG65Ti 30lbs 1281hz BG65Ti 31lbs 1306hz (impressed by BG65Ti, might be my new goto) Adipowerpro 29lbs 1337hz (I don't understand how the first one I strung had such a big drop (91hz after 2 days) and the other one 65hz in 2 days... There was no knot sinking in or anything)
Lost 6% in a week and about 6h of play. Sadly I broke it on a mishit near the bottom knots... The NS30 I've had were worse than that...
I am wondering if anyone uses ClearTune on iOS. My question is the frequency in Hz from ClearTune cannot match with that from CarlTune. It seems to me that the former is just a half of the latter. Am I right? Is there any way to make the frequency in Hz from ClearTune in the same scale as CarlTune to make them comparable? Thanks!
^ I use both and get identical results. Sounds like it's measuring the harmonic. How do you sound the stringbed?
I did the same to sound the string bed for both two apps. The frequency I got from CarlTune is almost twice than that from ClearTune. For example, if I got 1100 Hz from CarlTune, it is 550 Hz in ClearTune. I am wondering if it is the setting issue in ClearTune. I had tried to tweak ClearTune settings. However, it doesn't work..
BG80P 31 lbs out of machine 1320hz 3 days 1273hz 2h of play 1265hz 4h of play 1259hz 6h of play sadly broke it on a mishit near the bottom knots I've been impressed by both bg65ti and bg80p and I probably will have them as go to's from now on.
