    Hmm, just curious..

..what browser are you using??..I'm, strictly, using the latest IExplorer (6.0) both at home & work...When i click the Search button, it pops out that small search box..

Is Javascript enabled on your browser?

I just did a test by turning it off and the small area doesn't pop up - it jumps straight to the search page.

    Works fine for me.

i cant find any javascript thingy in the security settings. all i can find is active X or something. forgive my ignorance on this matter. what's funny though is that all the other options like new posts, and today's posts, and member's list and even the quick links are working but not the search option.

    To find out..

..what version of IE you're using, just click on the 'Help' button above and then click on 'About Internet Explorer'..you should see which version of IE you're using..;)

yep, IE 7. that's the version i am using. i tried to find the java thingy and was told to upgrade my java. so i did. now the search option goes twilight zone. sometimes i click on it, the small box appear. other times, nothing happen. most of the time it works when i just clicked on a topic to read. then i clicked search and the small box appear. i read the topic and when i clicked search again, back to square one. this is baffling me to say the least.

well, looks like *some* ppl with IE7 is having issues. but i have tested it myself and it worked for me.

to see if you have javascript is simple, do you see the advertising on the left hand column? if not, then javascript is not enabled. if you see the advertising and you are still not seeing the search box, you can try go to:

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/search.php

    for the time being...

Thank you wilfred. i hope by lads, you mean ladies, because i am no guy and i believe so is susan. he he he he. i checked the javascript and it is enable. but still the search option kinda goes twilight zone on me. nonetheless, the method kwun mention still can work. so if i want to search, i simply open the search option in a new tab. just a little more work. no biggie. :D
