    Hi all,

we try our best to eliminate spam in BC. we have spam filters and mods actively remove them. however, everyday one or two spammer do managed to get through.

when you see a spam, please use the report post button to notify us. we will delete them.

don't reply to the spam. it does nothing, the spammer doesn't care, he/she probably never reads it anymore, or probably just a robot. by replying to spams, it just end up giving the mods more work because not only we need to delete the spam, we also need to delete your replies.

    so

    1) don't reply to spam
    2) click report to let us know

    thanks.

Perhaps, we need to list and to identify the spammers' usernames too

Many BCers, just like me, accept and reply to whoever and whatever is posted at BC.

There were times when viruses and Trojans got into my computer, that I need to clean up my computer. :(:(:(

spammers when detected will be instantly banned from BC forever and all their posts (and replies) deleted. i don't see the need to have their usernames published, that will just add work to our already busy moderators.

I certainly see less spams nowadays (on BC) and the few that popped up was dealt with faster than Zorro's sword. Thanks for all the hard work :).

I am still not sure what are spams and what are not

    .
You must have been logged in at BC regularly to have observed all these spams. :):):)

I am often logged in at BC, but I cannot detect who the spammers are.

Perhaps I am still not sure what are spams and what are not.:eek::eek:

Usually admin/moderators find spam first (controlled by holding new posts) before our BCers read it.

But this time BCer, what07, found it first. :):):)

I use to mod some forums when I was into pc gaming and clans stuff. So I have an habit of checking forums like every 4mins when online. :)

    nice. :)

we now have a pretty good spam filtering system in place. the number of spam messages has been reduced by a lot. most of the spam never get into the site, some do but goes into "moderated" state which is only visible (and deleted) by the mods, and only a handful, around 1 a day, slipped through. those i thank all the members, like chris-ccc, who help report them to us and get them eliminated. as a result, most members don't even get to see the spams at all. which is quite awesome. :)
