LCW at wrong place, wrong time, wrong opponent during that match. wonder what we can discuss anymore. either way or point of view, there is nothing much can the officials do. 1 billion votes to against. :D

I think it was the wrong umpire... I think Chong Wei handled it quite well. Some of the comments on Youtube about Bao Chun Lai celebrating too much were a little harsh, he had just won a big match.

To stop it happening again should simply be a case of having an umpire of neither country's nationality. Although mistakes do happen with calls there were a few too many in that match! Having a video referee system might also be useful.

I think you should take this up to BWF. You are dealing with the wrong audience here. Btw, similar things happened in Malaysian open 2005 between LD and LCW's final match(Korean open and the recently concluded DO2009 MD final matches ), so I would say that this is not that uncommon. IMHO, The biggest losers here are the BWF staffs that do absolutely nothing to the unfair line calls. I am surprised that hawkeye technology hasn't been implemented(at least at the SS level) even though we have the technology. I guess that was due to financial problem then.

Maybe if this needs to be discussed further, we can discuss on how the tournament referee should take charge and influence the umpires and service judges to be, ahem, less patriotic and more proper. Also how the umpire's match report and conduct is read and evaluated by the tournament referee/BWF committee.

If I am not mistaken the tournament referee did indeed comment to the umpire on his handling of the match. Too late for LCW, perhaps, but he did show that he is not too pleased with the management of this match.

the conclusion for this is: The officials in this match officiats in the very worse quality though. This actually should not be happening. On top of that, the umpire should not be involved in a match that their same countrymen is involved too.
