Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 08-Sep-2013 (A Short Report) . Here is a short report for our Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 08-Sep-2013. We thank trainees for removing themselves from our 'Booking List' when unable to attend; therefore opening up vacancies for new trainees wishing to join us. Reminder : If you are unable to attend, kindly remove your name ASAP so that others can replace you, otherwise you will be fined. Why? Because there could other CCCers wishing to attend (checking to book in - up to the last hours), but finding themselves missing out after we have FULL HOUSE. We welcome Owen-C attending his first lesson with us. At this session, we conducted the lesson on 'Quicker Footwork'. Some comments : * Your first movement should be made as soon as possible after the shuttlecock is hit by your opponent. * You need to be very alert to read where the shuttlecock will be for your next stroke/shot. * Your first movement is your first 'Weight Transfer', not your first step. * Your first step will come correctly when (at readiness) your weight is on your racket foot, therefore allowing your non-racket foot to move first. * Counting your 'Weight Transfers' backward (which is '1-2-3-4') is most useful for 'During a Rally'. * Counting your 'Weight Transfers' forward and/or sideward (which is '1-2') is most useful for 'During a Rally'. * Remember on which foot your weight should be on for 'Receiving Service' and for 'During a Rally'. * etc, etc, ...... If trainees are still not understanding the lesson taught, please ask me questions next session (to give you info/demo that you require). Comments on our 6 attending trainees: * Timothy-T is doing well. More training can bring smoother movement. * WaiKin-Y is doing well too. More training can bring faster movement. * Tracy-T's Footwork has improved a lot. She is learning rather quickly. * Chong-S is still having problem moving backward. Don't worry; More training will bring results. * Wei-C (being new) has a lot to learn. Her problem is also because of not counting her 'Weight Transfers'. * Owen-C (also being new) has much to learn. CCC Wednesday Night Social Games are for CCC CATS trainees . It's great to find that more CATS trainees are attending our CCC Wednesday Night Social Games sessions. Why? Because our social session was originally requested by CATS trainees (for them to play socially together). When we open up (to invite others - non CATS trainees) to attend, and when we find fewer CATS trainees attending, I sometimes feel that our original aim/objective to have our Social Games session has failed. MSAC has informed us that on Sunday 22-Sep-2013, no courts will be available for us . Before we forget (to remind our CATS trainees); MSAC has emailed me informing that on Sunday 22-Sep-2013, no courts will be available for our CCC CATS (for our usual time). Please remind me to inform our trainees at our next CATS about this matter (for trainees who are not subscribed to our BadmintonCentral forums). .
Content of email from MSAC (for Sunday 22nd of September, 2013) . Content of email reads ; Hi Chris, MSAC is hosting a Tournament in the main hall on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of September. The courts will be unavailable from 9 am - 7pm on Saturday and from 9am until 6.30pm on Sunday. The Table tennis hall will also be unavailable over the above weekend (unrelated event) so i cannot move any bookings. Apologies for the disruption. .
