There is simply no way he could have bought it at JJB. Because in that case the cone code wouldn't end on CH (for China) nor would it have a hologram sticker covering that area which in itself is not typical for one that ends on CH .

I need some help please. I can't determine if it's safe to buy the vt80 in the link below. Do you guys think it's genuine based from the description, price, ratings etc? (haven't got the shaft code yet) http://www.ebay.com/itm/YONEX-VOLTR...332?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20bddb410c
squash_mart, you should not doubt this seller very good service he is also member in this forum (with name RKEP eric) I could say that he sells legit racket P.S: don't forget to buy overgrip or replacement grip from him when buying a racket he will give you 3 over grip but if you need replacement grip or another overgrip you could order it from him he has his own brand which is RKEP (very famous for being good quality and cheap) for replacement grip, if you like Karakal super PU, you should try RKEP G05 (Ultimate) or for something less tacky but comfortable, try power master, G06 for overgrip, go for Elite, G09 sorry for doing advertisement here, I am not affiliated with eric / squash_mart but many people do says their grip is one of the best in the market (good quality and cheap, what could you expect more?) that's why I recommend it (factory grip is BAD even from Yonex one)
meh.. you should not expect a $40 racket as genuine racket on the cone code: month 88? definitely a fake..
racket model: Arcsaber Z-Slash TH shaft serial: 9414421 cone code : 040602CD source : westcoast, Canada price : Auction thanks
Hi, Would some kindly soul tell me please, if they think this is genuine? The string broke on my second game, so I'm now a little concerned! --->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- racket model: yonex Voltric 70 shaft serial:2222722 cone code : 090755CH source : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260931436881?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 price : £74 ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- Thanks. . .
Thanks, but could you please say what it is about the serial numbers that makes it a fake, as I'd like to be able to 'prove' it to the seller. Thanks. . .
first, the bag is definitely fake second, Yonex racket did not come with plastic bag (like in the picture) the main problem is that cone code: cone code is date when the racket being made DD MM Y X and 2 code of distribution 090755CH it means that this racket is made at date day 09, month 07 (July) 2005 for China distribution. do you see anything strange? if not I will tell you, Voltric 70 did not exists back then also even if it does exists back then move to shaft serial shaft serial is one of a kind number that will tell this racket is racket number XXXth that Yonex made in your case, this racket is number 2222722 th racket that Yonex made this shaft serial is really low, maybe back then in 2000, whereas the cone code said, this racket is 2005 production (which when voltric did not exists) or this is a 2015 racket? racket from future? lol..
Many thanksks for your swift reply Avenger - much appreciated, and all seems clear now! I've contacted the seller to ask for a refund. . .
I have a question regarding the above. Does the racket production serial number always increase (ie from new model to new model) or does it ever get reset and start from a lower number whenever a new model is out? Basically what I'm asking is what would be the serial number for a Yonex Nanoray 700RP, would it carry on from the 9xxxxxx, or could it be that the production serial numbers for the Nanoray 700RP start with 2xxxxxx. Hope you understand what I'm asking, thanks
