Some strange scoreboard in this tournament, one of the matches in the Boys Singles was, 21-2 16-21 21-7. Seriously how can you win a game 21-2 but then lose the next one?!
The old post in 2007, http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/40142-Indonesia-players-who-is-who/page11 I think I was wrong in identify between Silvi Antarini & Dewi Tira.
I play in Junior tournaments, but I've never see such a crazy result, I've seen results like 8-21 21-16 8-21 but not a result with 2-21
BS R32 Arief Gifar Ramadhan [8] vs Yogo Kobayashi - I hope Gifar fulfills his seeding. Kento Momota [3] vs Fikri Ikhsandi Hadmadi - it will be a massive upset if Fikri can beat the solid Japanese youngster. Leslie Teng Pang Liang vs Panji Akbar Sudrajat [11] - Panji should at least fulfill his seeding. Hung Chun Chung vs Shesar Hiren Rhustavito [2] - Vito is seeded 2nd but he will face an uphill task to even progress to QF as Xue Song should be facing him in R16. GS R32 Rina Andriani vs Yu Chien Hui - I hope there will be at least one INA rep in R16. Kim Hyo Min vs Setyana Mapasa - the Korean to progress. Hanna Ramadini vs Lee Jang Mi - ditto. BD R32 Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama [4] vs Annachary Nyyazgulyyev/Penaberdi Sopyyev - a warm-up match for Edi/Arya, who disappointed in the Team Event QF. They should at least fulfill their seeding and win a Bronze Medal this week. Alfian Eko Prasetya/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo vs Calvin Ong Jia Hong/Tan Wee Gieen [3] - it could be a first-round exit for Alfian/Kevin. Law Cheuk Him/Or Chin Chung vs Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma [2] - also a warm-up match for the 2nd seed but the dangerous Japanese pair Takuto Inoue/Yuki Kaneko will be waiting for them in R16. GD R32 Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyta Eka Putri Sari [6] - they receive a free pass to R16 and they would probably face Aya Ohori/Mayu Nakamura for a place in the last 8. Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean [3] vs Mareta Dea Geovani/Ni Ketut Mahadewi - the MAS pair to progress. Raja Azlan Raja Nunina/Peck Yen Wei vs Anggia Shitta Awanda/Shella Devi Aulia [2] - much is expected of the 2nd seed. At least, they should progress to QF.
Even in senior level, we have "The Special One" who once had a match point 20-12 (or something) and ended up losing the match. Why so surprised, ah?

My view on MAS Junior Player, don't know right or wrong ? I think any gap between the best player and the 2nd, 3rd layers. Some MAS Junior players who compete on ASEAN School Games (ASG) are better than those 2nd or 3rd layers. ASG : BS : Soo Teck Zhi, runner up Dutch Junior 2012. GS : Ho Yen Mei, who beat Hana Ramadhani in Vietnam in 2 sets
It s an energy strategy. The winner used up maybe 50% of his tank to be sure of getting G1. Then he rested , at the same time used tactics to burn up his opponent s energy in G2. So G3, he just strolled past the exhausted opponent. CHN has often used this, eg WSX, when they know they have to take G1 to have any chance of defeating the opponent. Doesn t always work against a strong opponent.
