Marin is the fitter of the two players and it shows in G3.

Wonderful fighting spirit from Marin; I thought she was done for sure in the second game. She seems to make a habit of getting out of impossible situations. I can't wait for her to be unleashed on the top players on a regular basis.

Busanan is not done yet, though...

A long, hard and grueling match with Busanan the slightly more skillful player losing to the fitter Marin. Carolina Marin is proving to be a worthy successor to Tine Baun and Juliane Schenk.

What a see-saw match! Just as you thought one player had it, the other came roaring back.

The psyches of both players are a bit suspect, though - to throw away such huge leads and let your opponent back into the game suggests nervousness in wrapping it up.

Next, let's hope Fu MT and Vanessa Neo are not sacrificial lambs to the Danes.

Now our Singapore pair, especially for Fu Mingtian, who is more experienced in WS, will learn from their highly ranked Danish sisters what women's doubles is all about. Enjoy yourselves girls in such friendly atmosphere in London. We are watching you from Singapore.

Having lost a very close first game, our Singapore girls led 11-7 in G2. What encouraging display!

Marin is my new favourite WS player. Europe seems to be progressing well. Now where is Olga Konon??

What a pity losing the long lead in G2 and the match in the end. Still, can't believe what I'm seeing, the SG pair playing above themselves; hopefully, from now on, they can continue to progress and over time make an impact in WD. Well done, Singapore Girls !

SIN girls were so close especially in the 1st game. FMT has a very powerful smash but her defence was weak and her service needs improvement. Well done SIN girls.

VA has the height and reach but HKV's retrieving ability is remarkable and able to frustrate VA time and again. What's more, HKV knows VA's game quite well.

It was this kind of retrieving ability which frustrated many top players like WZM who lost badly to him (French or German open finals 2 years ago) , LCW ( AE QF 2012) and also Lin Dan ( Danish Open ?).
