So far, the players and coaches who bought this shuttlecock feedback with good comments on this comparing the performance to its price ratio.
Tested S-Arrow gold in mens doubles. Lasted only 1 game in heavy smashing. Not as good comparing to RSL Tourney & PT-10.
When u mention "heavy smashing" this is kinda subjective... does the smash hit the shuttle on the racket sweet spot, or it is a miss hit, or "bad" smash, etc? The reason being, bad smashes and miss hits actually shorten the life of the birdie even faster than it should be, IMHO. Just to share as well, i have played with S Arrow, PT-10 and RSL 7(available in China) , to me all are more or less at par in terms of durability, approximately lasting a good 21 game , doubles, with constant smashes and net kills. (with 1-2 miss hits max) So at the end of the day, it is the cost that counts to me if i were to choose between PT-10, S Arrow, or RSL 7. Another factor, will be to take note that different birdies produced in different country may have different performance. This is more evident in between far apart countries. I have tried playing RSL 7 in Malaysia and it lasted only 15-16 points. (Hence the Hot humid weather Vs Beijing 's Cold Dry weather plays a big part too in the birdie performances) To me, S Arrow Gold is a good enough buy to be enjoyed in a social badminton games in SEA countries weather, just my 2 cents. It's really ain't that bad.
Review on S.Arrow Gold Shuttlecock Personally, I feel that this shuttlecock can provide one with good play. However, the durability is far from shuttles like Protech PT-10, Yonex AS-40. Here's my review as adapted from Dink-A-Lot's Badminton Shuttle Review Shuttle Name: S.Arrow Gold Shuttlecock Last Test Date: November 2009 Overall Rating: Good + Bang for the Buck: Good Price Paid (SGD): $25.00 Shuttle Grade: Good- Flight Accuracy: Excellent Durability: Poor Flight Consistency: Average+ Feather Consistency: Poor Shuttle Weight: Good+ Impact Feel: Good + Comments: Feathers of the shuttle are not as nice as from the pictures. I was surprised by how it was marketed through those pictures when I first opened the tube of shuttles. Shuttle have good accuracy and flight. However, it does not last long, making it not worth it for SGD$25.00 when I can get PT-10 with just SGD$3.00 more. I tried the shuttle with my intermediate group. We had to have the shuttle changed frequently.
I shared almost the same sentiments as CKZX93 .. After reading so much reviews, i feel this has fallen down to expectation. Appearance looks quite a solid birdie but until we start to play with it ... One shuttle lasted a game of high beginners on 15 points systems $25 I have expectation of close or same performance to Sintec 818 Probably the first and last time i am buying S Arrow Gold. With $1 more , I am going back to my Sintec 818.
