Currently, Badminton is under the control of National Associations and sponsors

    .
:D:D:D I don't think LCW and LD can be called smart or not.

They are servants to our Badminton community. And currently, (IMHO) our Badminton community is under the control of National Associations and sponsors.

Ahhh, you stole my quote:D...I have said long before in previous posts that LD makes more dough not playing than sweat for 5 days to win a meagre US$20K (US$4K per day) and risks losing too if he does not win...except I did not say about the chicks part.

Dude, with <2 yrs left to play, LCW is smart to play so much to maximize his earnings before he packs it all in and laugh all the way to see the banker, even better if you consider that all his training and tournamnent expenses are paid for by BAM (tax payers) and he gets to keep all his earnings, bonuses, endorsements, etc...there ain't any better business with zero chances of bankrupt or losses anywhere in MAS than for Datuk to play a game.
LD earns more for not playing than to toil and sweat in training hopefully to earn something like US$4K per game, LD is just waiting for the big O to come and go, before he says his sayonara. It is just BWF changing the rules for OLY that 'force' LD to play these SS and SSP events.

    Hahaha..otb :) yes, I remember your quote :)

Time remaining for this 2 to grab playing dough is short so they better hurry :D

Meanwhile, let's gear up and take over their place after 2012 :D

Hahahaha.... Only Tough Birdie can do it :D

Dont forget to assign credit for LCW's success to his "benefactor", working selflessly behind the lines without any recognition, reward or 20 K per month, all for the love of Malaysian badminton.
What a supreme sacrifice, equivalent to the 50 Japanese workers trying to cool down the nuclear reactors in Fukushima!

Ain't that the truth, the benefactor;)...those malaysian dudes who went to University enduring all those heavy-duty calculus and then work like no tomorrow cracking up their brain only to pay taxes (more you make, more you pay) and come home tired and miserable, the taxes went to feed malaysian badminton...Datuk and his CHN equivalent LD, and you can add TH too, playing badminton we call a game but they call it a job with all the perks included, having fun playing and reaping all the $$$ rewards and Datukship, and the adulation of all those sweet-young-things:crying::D, ahhh life is so unfair:crying:...so LCW and LD can retire a lot younger and earlier than we are, they are a lot smarter than Chris think;).
There is no business better than professional badminton, if you are as good as Datuk.

The so-called dudes are not ambassadors for their countries.
The badminton stars are. At international tournaments, they project their countries in a way that the dudes can never do. You just watch the crowd chanting 'chai yu' or 'Malaysia boleh' when LD and LCW take the court and this is beamed to millions in the world. The publicity generated is immeasurable and it would cost millions just to advertise. Just think of a minister and his/her entourage selling their country costing millions and you do not get the happenings beamed on TV to the world. When you mention LD or LCW, people associate them with their countries and the publicity sells in terms of tourist dollars.
LCW deserves his datukship 100% plus.

Also, the training that Datuk or LD go through is just as bad as calculus or whatever. Plus, they pay taxes too. Just because you get your money from taxes doesn't mean you don't have to pay taxes yourself.

I think Malaysian tax-payers should pay LCW more money......

    .
This is so true. Some Australian tourists wish to go to Malaysia to play and train.

Similarly, some are going to China, Indonesia and Denmark for the same reason. Why? It's because of LCW, LD, TH and PG.

I think Malaysian tax-payers should pay LCW more money. Compared to what Malaysia is spending on advertisements to attract tourists, LCW is getting peanuts. ;););)

Hahaha, uncle, I would rather my taxpayer $$ go to sports than the politicians or paper pushers. LCW & others like Nicol David work sweat, blood, tears to get where they are now. The politicians just strut around & look glamour, already earn lots of $$$;);)

    Agree.
I believe it s easier to study to become an engineer or doctor, if that s your chosen field. You still earn decent pay as an ordinary engineer or doctor. In sports, if you re not a top athlete, you earn peanuts, if there s any earning!
