I hope she can recover well from her injury this time. Looks like she went on court a bit too soon :(.

saw how she entered the stadium/court yesterday was a pity. such a beautiful girl like her must walk limpingly due her injury in knees. how much had these women athletes sacrifice for their sport's career, will it worth?

Yes. If you had a choice, would you rather be doing a 9-5 or pushing the boundaries of your ability and achieving what less than 0.00000001% of the world's population can? ;)

Do anyone know if WYH will take part in the Super series finals? It's quite unfortunate that Wang Yihan got injured at this time of the year. I really wanted her to see her compete against the best players.

Will Wang Yihan ever be the same? Her knee injury seems to be lingering. It's really sad to see her go out like that. She's the only woman in the world who can challenge Li Xuerui. And she has a great spirit on the court.

She definitely will. Her knee problem will go away, CBA will make sure of that. This break, skipping the SSF, is just what she needs to get into tip top condition. As for fighting spirit, she is second to none.

I believe her rivalry with LXR will intensify for a couple of years. The way she avenged her defeat on Juliane Schenk in the HK Open made me want to give her a standing ovation, phenomenal.

At the olympics, I felt Wang Yihan played better than LXR in the finals and deserved to win. She seemed like she was on the verge of victory, but made too many errors in the final game. Still, she seemed like the better overall player.

However, now it seems that LXR is charging ahead, and has surpassed Wang Yihan by a mile now. Wang Yihan is getting older now too, having more injuries, I dont know if she'll be able to comeback and compete for the top spot anymore. But I really miss her presence, she was always the most interesting of the WS to watch.

In 2012, Wang Yihan won 2 SS titles (MAS Open & China Masters) and Uber Cup plus managed silver medal at OG. The best moment for her is playing important role and redeem 2010 losing to grab Uber Cup from KOR.

And 2013? World Championships, Sudirman Cup, All England should be her priority target (as most of shuttlers eye those events) also China National Games.

In 2 weeks, WYH will turn 25 years.

I believe she needs to sit by herself, and with her chief coach and confidantes (Zhang Ning? boyfriend?) and map out her personal objectives and plans for the next 4 years.

She has generally demonstrated the fitness, strength and ability to remain among the top WS players in the world, and in the CBA national team. If she can maintain this level of consistency in all 3 areas, there is no reason why she cannot target a 2016 OG reprise.

But for that to be a reality, she will need to pace herself out very carefully. Here is where the CBA resources will come in handy: planning, technical, strategic/tactical, support, etc etc. This is obviously something she will need to sit and discuss with others in CBA. The sooner she does it, the better for her.

There is a good chance that BWF will also be rationalising it's mandatory obligations/requirements for seeded/high-ranked players and this will allow more players to remain longer in the game. At least, I hope.... ;)
