I think I've made up my mind and I'm going to be purchasing a Yonex Voltric 80 4U. I'll be stringing it with the Yonex BG-80 and most likely get a Yonex Towel Grip. For aesthetic reasons, which color strings and grip will best complement the racket? I'm looking for some suggestions!

You're right, it looks pretty nice, but the BG 80 doesn't come in black. :(

I've been looking into Ashaway strings lately thanks to Kwun's racket reviews. I have never used them before, but if they have a string that is similar to BG 80's or the BG 85's performance, then I may be interested.

The ashaway zymax are very good strings especially the 65 and 62 but the 62 breaks easily with mishits. The Carlton xelerate x67 are good strings too. I thought I had bg80 black once but it may have been bg65.

yellow strings with yellow grip or blue strings with blue grip. BG80 has both of these colours.

Bg80 is available in black i think. Saw it on my friend's racket. if you are going for black strings i would recommend the karakal tribal grip in black. Goes well with vt80.

op, what string and tension are you using currently?

i've recently discovered zm62 and loooove it! :)

but anything over 22-23 lbs and it'll break with even a slight mishit :(

I'm using the BG 80 at 23lbs. ZM62 similar to BG80? Someone told me Ashaway strings are cheaper so it might be more economical in the long run.

no string comes close to bg80 in hard feel
but zm62 at 23-24 lbs would be a good start

Really? I spent a bit of time and it seems like there are various opinions on this forum as to which ZM strings matches the BG 80.

Zymax 65 still has a lot of feel especially at higher tension and lasts a lot longer than the 62, the 67 and 70 are still good but not as good as BG80.

I personally like having yellow strings with a yellow grip, towel or normal grip

exactly what im using yellow on yellow. White on white is good too but everyone uses that so it looks like we are all using the same racket.

It just makes the racket different compared to others and makes the racket look bright

If you can, try putting BG 66 Ultimax (Red) with a Karakal Tribal (Red) Grip. You will be amazed at how the racket looks like. :D
