Medal especially, but even making the Quarters was a bonus. Semis is a plus, and anything else is even better. However, I don't know how long it would take for them to implement changes, but I'll keep asking haha :D

    Super Saturday coming up....
This could be Bruce/Li's most career-defining match ever. And I send them all my best wishes and positivity.
I'm sure the team with all their collective might and brains will be pitching in with practise, strategy, points, notes and encouragement.
We have every faith in you guys, all of you!
One more match, Alex and Michelle!
    GO CANADA!!!!!

Sadly, Alex Bruce and Michelle Li came out second best in their encounter with the Russians, Sorokina and Vislova. But I think they had a great run at the Olympics, and am sure many more of us here thank them for giving it their all, and making us very, very proud! :)

Here is a very nice article by Brian McNair, which I wil only link to, but it is worth reading, for the brief interviews with the Canadian pair, and their thoughts and transparent honesty. Which frankly, contrasts so much with the other sordid tales that have played out in WD. For your reading pleasure, then....

    Wow, it's been a while...

So, in Canadian Badminton news, Canada will be sending a decent sized group to the Pan Am Championships in Lima, Peru next week. The Team event will consist of: Nyl Yakura, Adrian Liu, Derrick Ng, myself, Michelle Li, Joycelyn Ko, Alex Bruce, and Christin Tsai. Some other players joining the fray in the Individual events will be Philippe Charron from Quebec, Sergeiy Shatenko, and Phyllis Chan. Jeff White will be the coach. Unfortunately, Grace Gao will not be playing because she did not receive medical clearance, so I'm actually not playing Mixed at all because she didn't find out until after the entries were submitted. Darn.

Perhaps she's given up full time training in singles?

Neither Grace or Michelle received medical clearance for their injuries. Grace had a stress fracture in her shin somewhere, while Michelle may had had some kind of knee treatment after the Olympics.

Hey BC, I had a chance to interview half of "Bruce-Li" at the recent Pan Am Championships! Unfortunately Michelle wasn't there due to an injury. But nonetheless, please check it out to get to know a lil more about your fellow Canadian athlete, Alex Bruce!

does anyone know why Michelle is paired up with Grace Gao for the WD, and not her regular partner Alex?

I'm not even sure if they (the team) have a "regular" WD pairing. ML/GG was paired together for the nationals, and they both train under the same roof...so to a bystander like me, this pairing actually makes more sense.

Bruce/Li were a regular pairing for quite a while.... and they've achieved some pretty good results :(
ML/GG are being trumped as we speak by the German pair 21-8, 11-7.... :(

I believe Bruce has since team up with Phyllis Chan and show some petty impressive results in the rescent Pan Am Games.
