If my knowledge of the Dutch language serves me correctly, it merely means "higher school of arts".

And, whereas many of us consider badminton a true form of art, I sincerely doubt this is the kind of art they teach :)

[IMG] Talk about digging in the vaults! Yep the Amsterdam School of Arts for theater and dance. A girl in my neighbourhood attended it (not to mention her cute friend [IMG]). I guess you could put on a good badminton demonstration on the stage [IMG].

    why? Because the logo?

I've searched here something about it (in English):

    Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten

[IMG] The location in the city centre.

The Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten () is a Dutch vocational university of arts located in Amsterdam.

The university consists of an art academy (Academie voor Beeldende Vorming), a music academy (Conservatorium van Amsterdam), the Netherlands Film and Television Academy, a theater school (Amsterdamse Toneelschool & Kleinkunstacademie), an academy for museology studies (Reinwardt Academie), a school of architecture (Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam), the Maurits Binger Film Institute, and the classical ballet department de Nationale Balletacademie

Another late reply: I think the logo is meant to resemble an "amfitheater" like in the roman empire days.

OP you must have no depth perception not to see it as a semi circular stand

Made me wonder who made them first the Greeks or the Romans - food for thought
